Have been having thoughts of upgrading my 2017 Mustang GT to a new one, so i can have a brand new NA V8 before they are extinct.

Having just spoken to a salesman at a ford dealer, he is going to get a quote back to me, with my 2017 as PX.

For sts and giggles, i just put it into WBAC, and absolutely astounded they are offering £27K!! i only paid £30K for it 2 years and 24K miles ago!

I was expecting £20K max from them!

I know they will knock money off for every speck of dust, but this sounds very top money!

Am now very interested in what ford come back to me with on PX value.
Its a 2017, in Triple yellow, auto, 42K, FSH, custom pack 2.
Any guesses on what the dealer is likely to offer?

If you enter your car details are you then bombarded with spam for the rest of eternity? Curious to try but always put off by the potential spam repercussions.

I think you're right OP.
Just checked one of my cars that i sold last year, it was about £39k on WBAC, it's now worth more at £44K.

Make the most of it, although WBAC will knock you down for anything, maybe better off trying Wizzle.
I used them to sell in the end (which offered me £40K), and you only sell to dealers; you could get more than WBAC.
Good luck.

The used car market is insane at the moment. CAP figures back up their offer.

£28k sounds a better number though.

There is a thread on the Porsche forum where a chap is trading his 911 in, WBAC offered £8k more than the avg of the others, about £7k more than official Porsche dealers.

WBAC seems to out bidding everyone at the moment.

Set up a Gmail account or whatnot specifically for this purpose, then never look at it again.

Thanks, that sounds very encouraging, if i can get a PX anything like this, i will certainly go ahead with an upgrade!

Out of interest that CAP valuation shows milage of 24K, what does it say for 42K if you don't mind?

Also they are suggesting it would be 6 months for a factory order, what happens with the PX, do they take it straight away? as the value could be very different in 6 months!

No. I registered a domain ages ago and still use the email alias feature, so they got wbac@mydomain.blah - they send a couple of follow ups, you can unsubscribe, and they did not pass that address on to anyone else.

This has proven to be true for pretty much everywhere I've given an email address.

One time I used them I got more spam than in a spam factory. The best way is to use an email site that lets you use disposable addresses. i.e. one where any incoming mail is sent to the main address without revealing the info. Yahoo is one site that does it. e.g. if you use hereward@yahoo.co.uk as the main address then you can choose disposable to give you addresses like joeblogs 45-carseller@yahoo.com. And when the spam starts rolling in just delete the disposable.

I've put umpteen cars into WBAC any never had more than 3-4 emails each time. No phone calls, although I may get the number wrong, silly me.

Given the amount of spam my what must be a 20 year old email address gets it's not really a problem.

I was advised when wanting to trade in my car by a PH’er who is also the dealer to sell by WBAC as they’re paying strong at the moment (this was in October).

So I did. As for knocking me down, they actually paid over what I’d been quoted as my car was due a service which I hadn’t done due to selling but WBAC considered the service schedule to be longer on my car than in the manual so said I was up to date.

6mths back my Golf GTI was £19k through them, now it's over £21k. I'm tempted by that to be honest, they're only slight more than that at a dealership

Hmm, on the ford website:

Right now, and until 30Jun2021, we are offering top prices for any Ford cars up to 10 years old. We'll even offer £100 more than a 'We buy any car' valuation for the same vehicle.*
And there’s never been a better time to get in touch. Following the recent announcement, the global shortage of semi-conductors is now starting to affect vehicle manufacturing.
What are semi-conductors?
Semi-conductors are materials that partially conduct electricity and are used to control the flow of electrical current in devices we use regularly, from phones to TV’s. Semi-conductors are critical in vehicle manufacturing, essential for technology such as driver’s assistance, connectivity, electrification and vehicle safety.
As this shortage starts to impact the automotive industry, we don't want you to miss out if you’re looking for a new vehicle. There will be fewer available in the coming months meaning right now you'll not only get a great price on new vehicles we have in stock but you'll also get a top price for your Ford car or van if you decide to sell.*

And the Asterix is:
Terms and Conditions

  • £100 offer valid from 26.04.2021 – 30.06.2021 when you sell or part exchange a Ford car with written proof of your vehicle’s valuation from We Buy Any Car within the last 14 days. Applicable to Ford vehicles only up to 10 years old with less than 90,000 miles.

Reflects the fact most cars are getting a minimum of 15 to 20% over book Cap Clean in BCA where 99% of WBAC stuff ends up.

Offered £1520 for my wife's 2010 Clio 1.2TCE Dynamique with 42k miles. A Skoda dealer offered £1750 against a £11k Fabia. Will have to try a Ford dealer against a Fiesta.

I do feel sorry for bob@bob.com - when I realised that was probably a real address I changed to bob@bob.bob. Good old Professor Bob Bobson, of 808 Bob St, Bobville.
