So as the title says really, me and mrs RJWR have had our texts. We've had our first born a week ago and the question came up with the midwife about our vaccination. Oddly enough the answer I got I wasn't expecting. Seems many 30 somethings are not getting boosted and the rate in new mums and or pregnant ladies is very low.

Im not an anti vaxxer (hence not in that topic) I'm just asking one way or another to the 30 somethings, what are you doing?

PS if you are above 30 something, feel free to comment, but this is aimed at the 30's group

Yes. I wouldn't consider not getting one.

I had covid around Christmas. It wasn't great, but it was only a couple of days and I I feel that bad really.

But this isn't just about protecting the individual that gets the vaccine, it's about protecting everyone. For that reason alone it's a bit selfish not to get it.

Same applies to other vaccines.

I'm 35 and my first one is booked in for Friday, husband is 34 and his is booked in for the following week, and our second jabs are 1 day apart in August. I had a miscarriage back in April (I had already decided I would get the jab while pregnant), but before that I saw one or two women on pregnancy support forums say they'd been turned away from vaccination centres even after explaining they'd discussed it with a doctor or midwife in advance.

Annecdotally, lots of my Facebook and Instagram friends in the 30s age bracket have been sharing photos of their vaccination cards or selfies with their stickers.

I've got more vaccinations than I can shake a stick at, so again, I'm not anti and I'm not saying I'm not getting one, I'm asking whether you are or not, like I said above, Midwife gave me an answer I wasn't expecting. It wasn't really a you must have one, it wasn't a lots are and lots aren't type of reply.

Seems like the general consensus is how I thought it was. Perhaps because the midwife only see's pregnant and new mum folk that the response was a bit fifty fifty

Not for me. Not ‘anti-vaxx’ at all, just don’t see the need. In the same way as the yearly flu vaccine, if I was 60+ or overweight then yes, but I’m not. It’s a personal choice, and entirely down to the individual.

35, going to wait till fully approved due to an existing auto immune disorder (works quicker than it should), watching brief until data shows it's not a problem.

I’ve got a few mates around 30, and their enthusiasm for the jab seems to be just as high as those around my age (40s) or older.

It’s got nowt to do with me what they choose to do (and I truly admire their selflessness as the risk to them is near zero). Because they’re only offered the Pfizer or Moderna jab I do make them aware of this, as it contains information they won’t receive from the WHO, NHS or Government:

Im 38 and wouldn’t take one.

Feel like there is a comparable amount of risk with the vaccine than Covid.

Plus I already had Covid and brushed it off.

I also think the travel advantage is overblown. No countries are giving an easier ride to vaccinated people yet

Finally, I disagree with the coercion etc for people who the vaccine doesn’t really benefit.

Will take it if I’m my backs against the wall but hoping it fizzles out before I have to.

If you’ve had two jabs, you can get into some countries without a negative test. Saving time/hassle/expense.

I’m 34, had my first one this evening. All under 40s offered something other than Astra Zeneca, I had Pfizer, so why not have it. Uptake seems high among my friends and peers.
