Yeah, that is pretty damn low - what did your physician suggest?

You really need to get this moving forward as soon as you can, you have both severe symptoms and also very low levels. There are lots of other blood markers that would be important to know here but get a doctor to explain them to you and take notes.

This could be life-changing for you so you really should make this a priority from now on.

Best of luck.
My physician has referred me to see an Endocrinologist. I have Beneden Health, so hopefully on Monday morning when I send the doctor's referral letter to them, they will arrange for me to see a private consultant.

With Beneden I get £1800 for diagnostics, so I'm hoping to use that, and once I have all the results from the tests I can go to The Men's Health Clinic.

No LH and FSH tested?

These are really important to know.

It doesn't look like they have tested for it as it's not in the results that I have, I'm hoping that the consultant will ask for any other tests that I may need.

I'm guessing that those two tests would help identify whether the cause was from my testicles or pituitary gland.

When I was first refered I had a CT scan to check my pituitary gland.

In the end it was left as unknown cause.

I also had my balls examined and the Dr (female) compared them to a string of wooden testicles to classify them. That was good.

I just want it sped up and prescribed T so that I can see how it changes me.

I always feel crap, so how I feel is normal as it’s how I’ve always felt. I hope I feel better and have a spring in my step.

I'm sure you will. My numbers were similar to yours. I wouldn't say I saw a sudden huge improvement, but you realise after a few weeks that everything just feels better.

They will want to see LH and FSH numbers so you could speed things up by getting another veinous blood draw and making sure you have those figures. If they have all results to hand (take all previous results) then you will most likely start your treatment at your first consultation.

I hear mainly good things about The Mens Health Clinic so you are in good hands.

Who are the recommended clinics?

The Leger Clinic don’t appear to have any appointments.

NUMAN test for for Erectile Dysfunction is actually really accurate for Low T and was only 30 (now 54)
Does SHBG, calculated Free T and cholestral too.

Super easy to do at home with a finger prick.
I had an NHS test two weeks after and they matched up.

...you just need to get over the name biggrin

A finger prick test will be discarded by any sensible physician though.

You are better off paying for a veinous draw.

Years ago I did a finger prick test and it came back so low that they refused to offer any treatment and recommended I went to my GP. Funny that I only did the finger prick because my GP refused to do anything as well!

I was referred to a consultant endocrinologist by my GP, I used my Benenden Health membership to see a private consultant.

I emailed over both blood tests and have received this letter.

Thank you for a photo of Mr. XX X he describes poor libido and erectile dysfunction. You have found a low total testosterone. I have reviewed the blood results that Mr. XXX is sent through and his free Androgen index is actually very much within the normal range at 46.9. There is therefore no indication of hypogonadism.

His low testosterone level is simply reflecting his low binding globulin. This is a common pet fall to fall into with over a diagnosis of hypogonadism very sensibly is three engine index was measured which is normal and there is there for no indication for testosterone replacement.

I’m not quite sure what all this means but should I just now go straight to Mens Health in Bournemouth?

Has any body else had this issue and are able to give me some insight to what this actually means?

Yes..

Your T is low and you have symptoms of low T.
Granted your free androgen index is within limits 100X (test /shbg)

Have google and see what that means, not much....If your shbg is low its impressive just how low your actual T can drop in order to get you out of the lower limits. FAI is garbage

I mean, even the society of endrocronology say that FAI is of little value in males as its mainly used for femlaes, it shouldnt over rule your symptoms.

Someone else mentioned, Important things have not been tested for as well
LH
FSH
Prolactin
E2
Free T
They tested TSH, but didnt bother with the T3 or 4 and antibodies?

Seriously wtf is the point in them drawing any blood if they are not even gonna do it properly...
You really should be doing a full panel here.
High Prolactin by itself could easily be causing all your current symptoms, and is easily treatable.

Just go straight to the private clinic. They won’t hard sell you or anything like that they will simply give you a second opinion.

As stated above your endocrinologist seems to have phoned in that report. Probably took them all of 2mins to write up and they didn’t even bother to do a proper panel in the first place - complete waste of time.

I’ll call the clinic in the morning and get booked in, I can pay to have the bloods that they have not taken, drawn.

Let us know how you get on Parbor.

I stumbled down to my clinic this morning for a blood draw as well.
Going through this thread and looking back over the last 12 months I am definetly not myself, and showing some symptoms of low T or thyroid issue.

I called the Men’s Health clinic this morning, that asked me to send over the blood test results that I have and I will get a 10min call next week.

Currently they are booking into July for the face to face consultation. Mean while I can pay for the extra bloods and hopefully on the therapy by the end of July.

FWIT, I also have very low SHGB and T. The low SHGB was put down to pre diabetes (by an endo) and I was put on Metformin. This made no difference after 9 months, if anything, made things worse so I stopped it.

Ideally you want lower SHGB but higher T (amongst other things) but it's hard to get the balance right. Take exogenous T to raise that and estrogen can rise which you also don't want! You can take an estrogen blocker but blocking too much is also bad and finding the balance is extremely difficult! Hence most medical professionals seemingly CBA.
