Bloody hell I've been ill.

I have had every symptom of illness I have ever heard of I think.

It's not covid, not flu what on earth is it?

Fever, hot / cold sweats, burning throat, aches everywhere, teeth, ears, feet, everywhere. And that's just the start.

Cough sounds like I'm coughing a lung up but nothing comes up with it.

Just about feeling right after 2 weeks.

Anyone else had this?

Daughter has it. Wife is just coming down with it. Looks like I’m lined up to get it just in time for Sunday. Great.

I actually thought it was pretty much gone yesterday, last night I coughed most of the night and hot/ cold sweats. And I'd bloody washed the bedding as well!!!

I work in London and we have had a lot away with this.... not covid, but seriously bad flu.

It's doing the rounds!

I'm not convinced.

Lateral flows have all been negative, but my sense of taste has gone screwy again like it did when I got COVID last year.

My wife had this identical to your description about 6 weeks ago . Constantly tested negative. In the end after 4 weeks doctor agreed steroids and antibiotics. She has underlying asthma.
I collected the drugs at the chemist and they asked if it was Covid. I said we had done loads of tests all negative and they said they had heaps of people in saying the same . They suggested it was Covid. The doctor also recorded her as Covid and was convinced this was what it was.

I've had it. In bed for 4 days. Flu like symptoms. Managed not to catch Covid for the past three years so this must be my penance;)

It’s worse than covid and it’s because of lockdowns we’ve been hiding away from these germs our bodies are weak.

My mrs. had a cold a fortnight back, and I had it last week.

Annoying bit of coughing and some sneezing fits.

Lasted five days, that was it.

Around London on tubes and buses all the time and there seem to be a lot of sickly people out and about at the moment judging by all the hacking coughs.

Yes. Today’s the first day I’ve been out of bed in seven days. Absolutely savage. Assumed flu as tested negative for Covid.

The latest fun and games involve swollen painful lymph nodes, making swallowing difficult without effort. No swallowing means no sleep. Fall off exhausted at 6am only to wake up five minutes later coughing and spluttering and feeling like you’re drowning.

I am sure you're right. My GF never tested positive - but lost taste and smell. Has recovered but can't eat mustard any more - abhorrent to her, she used to love it.

Damned clever these Chinese.

Did no one ever lose their sense of taste and smell with a heavy cold or flu pre covid? I did, every time. Once your nasal passages get properly blocked your sense of smell goes, and once that happens your sense of taste goes with it (see, eg, videos of blindfolded people without a sense of smell eating an onion, thinking it’s an apple).

If she has instead developed a taste for sweet and sour sauce I think we have all the proof we need.

Day 11 for me and had everything detailed here and also serious lower back pain in addition.

I can honestly say I’ve never been so ill.

This strain is brutal.

Since July I've had covid (hit hard), two colds that both had long lasting coughs, and just as I was getting over the last cold, I caught covid again. It was nowhere near as bad as when I had it in July, but I'm really fed up with being ill now.

I'm going with it being a form of covid. Same symptoms across the household, same time, 1 of us tested positive.

Per an earlier poster, this is what we get for having dodged covid for 3 years!
