Finally feeling more human so stepped back on the scales as the wife actually complimented my weight loss. Seems another kilo has gone since Wednesday!

I’m now just 1lb above the weight i was for my suit fitting 2.5 years ago. Still some way to go for target but it’s all heading back n the right direction.

Great progress OMITN!

No change for me this week. I need to give myself a kick as I’ve not been as strict as I need to be to shed the pounds - unnecessary handfuls of peanuts in the evening being the main culprit…

Also have got addicted to Yeo Valley’s strawberry kefir yoghurt - half a pot a day would be okay not the two and a half I had last night smile

Edit: Just went to update my stats on the weight loss wiki and it's gone tits up again - the last couple of weeks updates are missing?

Thanks!

And same issue for me on the wiki. In fact my last entry showing was 18/02/23. Fortunately I’m using an app (Happy Scale - previously recommended here I think) and that gives me all sorts of trending etc.
Just updated mine, last weeks update was lost but no bother since I haven't lost anything this week anyway burgercoffeedrinkrolleyes

It's also now in alphabetical order, but that's probably a good thing

123.1kg this morning, that's a solid 8.9kg down since the start of 2023. Averaging around 1kg a week, which I think is a sustainable level.

However, decided to treat myself to a glass of red wine on Saturday evening - keto and alcohol do not happy bedfellows make. Very nice, I think I'll have another... oooh go on then.... well can't leave a quarter bottle over, may as well finish it. What's that? Whisky you say? Mais oui naturellement. So a bottle of red wine and four very generous whiskies.

Sunday morning was less than fun. I was meant to go and visit friends in Edinburgh, but there was no way I was driving anywhere.

1.1lb down this week. Pleased but wish it was 2lb per week as a goal of 1% bodyweight weekly weight loss.

I'm really pleased with how good it feels to be back on track again. Last week was a mess, but it only took a day or two to start feeling good about the progress I've made this year. Not expecting a loss over the 2 weeks combined, but heading the right way ... again.

2kg down this week. 144kg to 129.1kg since 3rd Jan. Over 10% of weight lost and starting to notice big differences to appearance and fit of clothes, etc.

General point I think an important thing is not to be put off by inconsistent and seemingly unfair results from week to week. Be honest with yourself and try to do the right thing. In the end you get results; sometimes a weight reading, sometimes a smaller belt size and sometimes just better health. smile

I haven't really lost any weight since week 2.

Probably time to admit I'm doing something wrong.

Still think I have the metabolism of a sloth though.

In reality I think having a social life of any kind is devastating for ones wasteline laugh

Oh well... I'll keep going so you can all laugh at my pathetic lack of progress over the rest of the year!

you're not alone. i've also stalled. spent the last 4 wks off the road, recovering from a running injury and going slowly stir crazy smile - but trying to be good on the eating front, and mostly succeeding. and i have been doing strength work every day, so although the scales seem stuck, i look and feel better and the clothes fit a little better too. keeping going and this thread helps with that. it's a marathon, not a sprint biggrin

That’s the spirit! rofl

Perhaps post what you are doing and the masses could make some advice or ideas that might help you in particular.

If socialising is a big contributor, could you make some simple swaps like drinking water or low alcohol beers as they’re lower in calories? Asking for extra veg rather than carbs with a meal etc

The TLDR version of it is I'm fairly disciplined most of the time, and then go out at the weekend and blow all the calories I've saved through the week laugh

If I didn't have a social life or enjoyed a drink, then this would be much easier and quicker. Although I don't know that I wouldn't end up replace booze with more food if I didn't drink lick

I accept that if I want a social life then this process will be much slower, since it's probably this lifestyle that's caused me to be the way I am in the first place.

My original 20 kg target seems very ambitious, if not impossible without a complete lifestyle change, so I reckon the best way forward for me is to have more modest ambitions and try to improve my fitness and body composition; will never be ripped but maybe I can use the calories to build a bit of muscle smile

Hows everyone doing, 2 weeks of doing far less exercise than the previous 2 months (Thats what a FTP test does to you smile), and weight is now starting to come off - well some trend downwards.

Overall though going into Q2 2023 in a much better position than 2022, continues my personal observation doing cardio workouts = no weight loss smile.

Stalled a bit on 123.1kg since Monday - seems to be what happens with Keto. Still high in ketosis according to my clever little pen doodah, so I just need to keep the faith and not be tempted to fall off the wagon. Eventually my system will get back to burning stored fat and the weight loss should continue. Although it is St Paddy's day and a few Guinnesses (Guinnii?) would not go amiss.

Has someone intentionally changed the Wiki back to non-alphabetical (was the only list I'll ever be top of hehe)? Otherwise it's been borked again so I'll probably not keep bothering with it.

+0.7kg for me over two weeks and I'm actually pretty pleased. First week was full on self-destruct while the wife was in hospital. Last week damage limitation. Still 8.6kg lost in 2023.
