A week in. I'm not tracking weight loss as such. I've been the weight I am now with a 32in waist in the past but I've definitely lost a bit of fat already.
Two side effects, I sometimes get the symptoms of being hungry, light-headedness etc without actually feeling hungry, guess that's not really a side effect, it's exactly what it's supposed to do.
I am getting a fair bit of acid reflux though, enough to wake me up in the night. Otherwise no other side effects, it just works and I'm not even trying to help it along with will power.
The drug companies must be raking in billions, if they can lower the price to say £50 a month they'd have half the western world on it.
You must be fairly slim already if you're a 32 inch waist. What are your aims with taking it, are you trying to shed a few kg presumably (even though you're not tracking the numbers). I've not had those side effects but I think others have. Some YouTube vloggers shared this but I think they only lasted 3-4 days and it goes away.
Agree, I can imagine this drug will only grow in popularity and will become way more mainstream than it already is.

I would say don’t rush up the dosage. I have been on 5mg since the 2nd month, and it’s been working extremely well. Drinking has zero interest at all. I find I am much less likely to binge spend on things I don’t need. Just eat small portions, having a “treat” day will ruin you for the next 2 days! I am saving more than I am spending on MJ as I am not eating junk food etc. Also drink plenty of water!
Any other questions more than happy to help
I'm on 2.5mg. About to take my 3rd jab on Thursday, so over the half way point. I am tempted to go up to 5mg and stay there.Any other questions more than happy to help

I'm not sure I've felt much different with the 2.5mg. I have had brilliant results, but I always do when I truly dedicate myself to losing weight and fitness.
In about 10 days I'll put my order in and will have to decide whether to stick on 2.5 or go up to 5.
My BMI has never dropped below 27 in adult life and I used to do atleast 2 100+ mile cycles every week. I'm circa 30 now.

I started in May. My wife is also doing MJ and has reached 15mg. She followed the gudielines of upping every 4 weeks/4 jabs. Problem is it’s left no where for her to go. She has maxed it out, and I am actually losing more weight than her and have lost more in a shorter amount of time than she has managed. If the lower doses at working the thing seems to be to stay as low as you can for as long as you can. You might need more will power but you will anyway when you come off it, so maybe not making it “too easy” might not be a bad approach.
Many thanks, that's very helpful insight.TheJimi said:
Apologies if this has already been covered, but how many of you are also exercising as well as taking the drugs?
I only started yesterday but I'd class myself in the excessive exercise camp, so am interested to see how this will work with and/or impact this. As they say, you can't out-train a poor diet. I'm proof.Edited by S100HP on Wednesday 15th January 09:14

I was exercising regularly before taking it, I was getting really frustrated about being fit but fat.A lightbulb moment caused me to realise that I was overeating and mindlessly eating and thought I'd join my wife in using Mounjaro.
I've also joined a "Barbell" gym and got a PT to try and minimise the muscle loss, seems to be working.

For those taking Mounjaro, how quickly did it start working for you, and what did 'start working' feel like?
I took my first dose at 1400 today. Just wondering what I can expect really.
I took my first jab on a Thursday evening and on the Friday night I had a really dry mouth. Saturday I felt a bit nauseous and eating didn't even enter my head, at the time I wasn't sure if it was a placebo effect but it clearly wasn't.I took my first dose at 1400 today. Just wondering what I can expect really.

Do you think an element of this drug is placebo? I'm not sure I feel any different after taking it, but am I not snacking because I know I shouldn't Vs a chemical making sure I don't?
It would be awesome if after a couple of years the manufacturer(s) came out and said it's "just asprin"
I'm 5 weeks in and seen so great results so far and I'm down 13Ibs, I'm on MJ staring with 2.5mg and just gone up to 5mg last Friday.
On Monday evening I started with some side effects which got worse on Tuesday and I am still suffering currently. I'm just about to speak with my supplier about this.
has anyone else suffered.
my symptoms are without been too graphic. Burping and upset stomach.

Still don’t feel like any symptoms of taking, except feeling bloated / full most of the time, although could be linked to personal stress!
I think this is what early symptoms feel like. I'm on 2.5mg (second week) and feel similar. Not bloated, but full. I definitely desire food less too. I still get hungry and want food, but not in the sense that I desire something delicious/want more of what I have.

Not sure what you are expecting? Squirts? Vomiting?
You desire food less which allows you to control your intake much much more. Track your calorie input.

ts and burps that smell like eggs.
I concur. No side effects at all on 2.5mg but for the entire time I was on 5mg, starting from about 24hrs after the injection, I had awful eggy burps for about a day which were very antisocial. This was then followed by one or two days of the s

Took mine on Sunday (first dose), not feeling anything yet, but I’ve become not too bothered about food…. I took my first dose at 1400 today. Just wondering what I can expect really.
Then you have to work with that, eat less, train more and the weight will fall off without your brain telling you you are starving all the time, every second of every day.
It's brilliant, best thing i have done in ages.

That's it working, that is all it does, reduces appetite and cravings for food or "food noise" as it is referred to.

I get it. It's stopping me eating crap. I'm just not raiding the nice cupboard and making better choices. That maybe the jab or it might be placebo. Down 1.5kg since last Friday. Didn't take the jab till Tuesday but was trying to be good beforehand in anticipation. Then you have to work with that, eat less, train more and the weight will fall off without your brain telling you you are starving all the time, every second of every day.

This medication really does seem to be a game changer especially if someone is committed to some form of exercise & training protocol.
From my perspective, it's something that could fast-track people into the condition of their lives.
It's not something I need personally, however, I find it incredibly exciting and this is, to all intents and purposes, the first generation of the drug.
Pretty stoked for you guys that it's working so well
Needs to be more financially accessible though, as I can see it being out of reach for many.

It is possible, I could do it in my late teens/early 20's. But that was 3 - 4hrs of training per day, 6 days a week. 10 miles running, and 60 miles on a bike is around 4 - 4,500 calories. An average man is supposed to need 2-2,500 calories per day.
Split those exercise calories over 7 days, and it's just an extra 650 calories over your required daily calories. That's more than done with a slice of cake and a latte, it's only 8 chocolate digestives, or a 1/5th of a Dominos pizza, and that's before you look at overall portion size for everything else.
Hence, why we are, where we are. It's really easy to consume lots of calorie dense food nowadays.
The missus is now at the end of week 1 on MJ, and has always struggled with 'food noise' since we've been together.
It's definitely helping her, as food has always been on her mind. She has used food as a crutch, when she's bored, happy, stressed, excited, unhappy...
Once breakfast is done, she is thinking about what's for lunch etc. It's not something I suffer with, which infuriates her too "how can you not be hungry!?"
Hopefully she will end up where she wants to be, and i'm hoping it helps to break some very old habits in the process for her.
