Just catching up today after a work day on the road. Well done all.

Another milestone for me today (Wednesday morning is weekly weigh day) with 8 stone 1 lb so another stone marker done. Eventual target is 12 stone loss (from a very high start point) so now officially 2/3 done.

Download the Hevy app, you can create exercises with their library, filter by equipment type and also create entire routines and of course it's all tracked.

Each exercise has a little video that shows form as well, it's dead easy to use.
Thanks, will take a look

I'd look for some decent science based lifting videos to minimise injury and maximise gains with less weight than you otherwise use. Jeff Nippard, Mike Israetel, Eric Janicki, Jared Feather are all good and preach full ROM and maximum time under tension. You'll find most of their stuff by their name or by Rennaisance Periodization. Dr..Mike is a strange dude but he makes sense about training...I changed my training from hard and heavy about 8 months ago to a more focused regime with much less weight and much better form and guess what, I've lost a fair bit of strength but very little muscle mass...and I've been injury free other than existing niggles.

Do people generally taper off or just stop altogether? I'm on 10mg and 4 kilos off my target so thinking of reducing as it's not getting any cheaper.

I only went up to 5mg, so coming off half dosed for a month, now every two weeks. As I’m now living off my wife’s golden dose so the pen isn’t active for too long (she’s getting them on ‘script)

Definitely appetite is back but will power helping to stop me going back to the state I was in…

nce the original post was removed, it is hard to see the specific details of the journey, but it seems like there was a lot of interest in these new weight loss tools. Many people find that starting is the hardest part, so it is a shame the initial update is gone.

Little interest in my contra flow posts but i'm still struggling with coming off and immediate weight gain of 1Lb a week is disproportional to calories consumed. I still keep a keen eye on calories but have enjoyed life a little more - but never a starter or desert if eating out etc. Which should hopefully be OK.

The 15mg i was on had lost 66% of its suppressant effect (which is of course why they titrate) and the initial 2.5mg was far more effective. So time to finish it at about BMI 27.

I however went back on after a 6 week break as weight was coming back on - I'd been on 15mg with no issue for at least 4 months.

  • This maintenance dose idea seems absolutely not to work*
I tried 4mg. Zero effect.

I upped it to 7.5. Zero effect. Like NOTHING.

I'll do 10mg next (this was the dose recommended by pharmacy after my break - but they all vary in what they suggest and seem to make it up as they go along without having taken it I guess - much is left to learn about this drug). I just want to stop the 'auto' weight gain and take the edge off cravings

This stuff just loses its efficacy and I am terrified of heading back to where I was but having lost muscle mass and likely to put weight back on purely as fat. Not good. I'll fight it as hard as I can and DO limit calories but there is some science/chemistry increasing weight gain and cravings that are disproportional to easing off a calorie controlled diet after hitting target weight and it is odd and unusual...

Sorry guys its not a wonder drug and all roses.

well, it's not really the drug's fault.

2.5mg feels strong as your body was not used to it. By the time you get to 15mg, your body is very used to it.

If you come off MJ for 2+ weeks then you can only ever go back on at 2.5mg. A short break is actually worse as whilst the drug is out of your system fairly quickly, your body is still used to the higher dose. So, if you change your mind and go back on it, you will basically feel no effect at all from the drug, and as you can only titrate 4-weekly, which means you will likely feel no effect for several months until you get back to a higher dose.

I sought advice and did some research before when I was planning to take a break as I assumed it would come back with a far stronger effect, and the advice was quite the opposite, so I took the decision to drop the dose a bit rather than stop entirely.

As you're keeping an eye on calories; as in, eating up to a certain amount and being strict with it, then perhaps you're over estimating what you need to maintain weight or underestimating what you need to lose weight?

Had my yearly check up last week (the big C when I was younger so I've had check ups ever since). Doc was very pleased with my progress and even more so when I said I was on the 2.5mg.

I've been a bit lazy with my jab the past couple of weeks too, I used to notice the peak of the suppression and then it tailing off a bit towards the end of the 7 days but the last few weeks I don't think I have really. I've not been eating any differently for it though and the weight is still coming off. My wife thinks it's just a placebo now and not really doing anything, I'm not sure laugh I reckon another couple of stone and I'll be about where I wanna be, gonna order another couple of pens I think and hope that will see me through.

I never ventured over 2.5mg on the 4 months i was on the jabs. I was thinking that the last couple of months it was more of a placebo.

I took my last jab 4 weeks ago, weighing 13st 11lb, with a target of 13st 7lb(4st loss). Weighed myself this morning and I'm 13st 6.5lb, gradually losing i'm happy with. I need to ajust my diet now to maintain, maybe add a few more carbs to my diet.

I simply eat the same Monday to Friday inclusive, one of those days is a liquids only. Eat what I like at the weekend but have found it is much, much less and I am way more mindful of what goes in on these more relaxed days. Had two 'fast' days recently, not voluntarily, because of dental treatment, and am sitting at 15st 2lb from 21st 4lb. I'm not recording this weight as it is a 'false' read, I dropped 6lb in two days, but I'll get there properly within the next few weeks...I'm not setting a target anymore just gonna keep on going until weight plateaus and then decide where to go from there. Would hope it keeps dropping for a while yet, am averaging less than 1500 calories a day over any full week, sometimes much less
