They let me start on 5mg after a four month break.
How did it feel being back on it after a break? Did it feel like how it was when you first started? I'm on max does, but the loss has slowed down and the supression and side effects seems less now than when i first started out (which was where more weight was being lost).

On 5mg I felt like the suppression didn’t quite last for 7 days. On the last day I found myself grazing a little.

No side effects other than being very thirsty.

The amount of food (and Pepsi Max) I consume when I’m on it compared to when I’m not on it is huge.

I’m drinking three or four litres of lucozade sport per day, plus chocolate and copious amounts of tea and biscuits. I’m still somehow managing to eat three home cooked meals a day but my blood tests aren’t lying and I’ve gone up a size in my clothes since Christmas, maybe even one and a half sizes.
When I’m on Mounjaro I cannot bear sugary drinks or chocolate but still enjoy a cup of tea and a digestive or two.

3 or 4 litres of Lucozade? That's got to be 1,000 calories on it's own? Not to think about the horrendous sugar content. Definitely not good for you.

This is what Im finding. Day 1, can hardly eat. Was supposed to do another jab today. Was moving house so didn't. Daughter wanted Domino's. I ate an entire medium on my own. If I had done the ja I'd be lucky to eat even half of it. Have requested to go up to 7.5 for my next one.

I did the last 5mg jab from the pen I restarted with today, I have a 7.5mg in the fridge ready for next Friday.

Hence my return to this thread. The body is starting to feel like it’s drinking 1000+ calories a day never mind the rest of the crap.
Sugar has always been my drug of choice but I’m fighting a losing battle on a number of fronts.

cant you just drink sugar free? i grew up drinking lucozade for when you're ill. sometimes having it as a replacement for breakfast. sugar tax kinda ruined lucozade now and it's not a go-to when ill. when i switched from drinking normal cola to zero, or pepsi max it maybe took a week to get used to it. nowadays i rarely buy normal coke/pepsi.

Sugar tax ruined Irn Bru, but I got used to it. I randomly bought a bottle of the Irn Bru 1901 and it didnt feel much different.

the sugar free/diet soda doesn't take very long to get used to it.

Same. The association with feeling like st makes it something I have never wanted to drink.

I will be starting on Mounjaro again this week, how likely is it that I will be on the lower dose for the first month or will they put back on the 5mg?
Will be down to your provider. Strictly following the clinical guidance means you should start back on 2.5mg (which is what I’ve had to do).

But, given 5 is the therapeutic dose and 2.5 is designed to ease you in/allow you to assess for side effects, I can’t see why a returning patient couldn’t start on 5mg.

Flavoured waters are great. The peach flavour (or raspberry) is lovely.

My weight pretty much remained the same this week, which is disappointing. I'm going to try and up the walking this week but they put my left leg back into full compression bandages. The area that was breaking down looked worse and there's a section of the shin that looks very bruised. We're just unsure why? frown

Don't get bogged down in weekly weigh ins, a multitude of factors can affect your weight on any given day which is why I have been weighing daily for a long time now. Also shows any red flags throughout the week, what's working and what is not and I can arrest it there and then. Do you monitor/log what you eat? Made a huge difference to me knowing what I was putting in and when. Good for consistency and discipline. These jabs are only in reality a small but hugely important part of a process and you need to have a process in place that works for you. Please note, I am not assuming you don't just highlighting its importance. A single pound a week is a great achievement if its is consistently lost.

I would smash so many calories on drinks, it took a bit of getting used to but sugar free drinks have reduced me calorie intake by so much. Pepsi Max is my go to now but flavoured waters are good too, dinner at the in-laws there's always some flavoured water about (just tricky avoiding too much Pasta, nuts, cheese & cake biglaugh)

According to one article one place is selling the starting dose pills at £99 on preorder. It makes it more expensive than the injection.

I thought this might happen, it will be marketed as a more convenient option with a premium price.

I can’t imagine anyone that’s been using pens would choose to switch to daily pills.

The injections are not the issue, the price is.
