It's completely the opposite for me. I've been helped by others on this thread and am more than 6 stone lighter as a direct result. The only 'depressing' part is that I can no longer continue due to the cost, despite the huge positive impact this treatment has had with regard to my legs healing. Already the legs have started to decline as I had to reduce my dose to what I saved from previous pens divided. I had hoped the pill might be cheaper but seems that's not the case.

This.

Weigh in this morning, another 2lbs this week, 2 lbs more to hit 10 stone off and hoping that will be next week. For me at least that is as far from depressing as I can imagine smile

Cheers both. I shouldn't bite but the negative poster irritated me.

That breaks almost every rule going for advertising weight loss treatments..!

Oh, and no-one yet knows what the pricing will be.

Looks like one place has brought out their prices of the pills. What I don't get is the dosing. the injections top out at 2.4mg so why are they higher in the pills?

I read that they're made in different ways so that could be why.

I read that as the pills pass through the digestive system a lot of the dose is lost so you need the pills to be a much higher dose to deliver the same active amount as an injection.

Swallowing it, you're going to absorb very much less of it than injecting it into yourself. Note that those are daily doses - the maximum Wegovy dose by injection appears to be 7.2mg per week.

Drug dosage have little correlation to price.

The injections are now off patent and other companies can make the same drug and sell for cheaper. The oral tablet in on patent, so if you want a tablet and don't want the injection you have to pay the asking price.

I know but what can one do? In my case the impact of weight loss has been huge. My ulcers are healing, my mobility is improving, my BMI has dropped below 40 and my self esteem is improved. However, what does one do if you cannot afford to continue with the treatment? I'm tired of hearing my own voice / reading my own words on the subject of cost but it feels as if my health is being held hostage. Without this medication it's likely my health will deteriorate and I've already seen that with my left leg now being back in full compression bandaging. It's humiliating having to ask for help here but I feel backed into a corner. Yes, there are things I can do to try and ensure the weight doesn't go back on but I don't feel confident in my ability to lose more weight unaided. I am trying though. I was 60 yesterday and I only had a tiny piece of cake and actually gave it to the nurses at the surgery to share. Other than that, I am trying to stick with the meals I've had this past 10 months. Anyway, I can only do my best and I still feel hugely motivated by my own weight loss, as well as you all here. Thank you!

Don't know if you've updated your garage, in your profile, I know I haven't. Couldn't you sell one of your 5 BMWs in your current fleet to fund the jab.

Got my last jab of 2.5mg Mounjaro this week and hoping to move upto 5mg. Gotta say I dont like the "kwikpens" compared to the pens I had for Wegovy.

The wegovy pens had a slightly smaller needle and just a button you primed and pressed at the end, these Kwikpens The bit you press seems to be harder to go in and the needles slightly bigger.

I have one E30 which I got by making a lot of sacrifices for and is the only thing of value I own. I'm not complaining but don't have savings or own my own home anymore. I did sell my M3 to pay my rent when I got ill. I'm scraping by but remain grateful for all I get. I want to get back to work eventually but right now, no employer would put up with all the nurse and hospital appointments, plus I still have leg ulcers to deal with. Sometimes I feel like my E30 is the only positive thing in my life. I've already been selling clothes and trainers on Vinted.

Day 29: First 5mg dose today. Weigh in this morning shows only a 0.6kg loss over the week. 5.4kg in total over the first four weeks which I’m happy with.

I’m hoping the jump will be beneficial. I really feel I’ve been working on mostly willpower, it’s not been an easy couple of weeks.

I have the leftover ‘golden dose’ from the 2.5mg in the fridge still.. is it worth keeping or binning?

Well done, the 2 5mg is designed really as a trial for any reactions so losing on it is good.

I bin my pens after the 4 shots, but if yiu are set on using the last bit do it today as pens need to be used wthin 4 weeks of opening. A full dose is 60 clicks so you could use old pen and 30 clicks from the new one to get equivalent of 5mg. Not condoing it, just answering your question.

Hope all continues to go well.
