Wegovy Anti-chubster injection-pen things
Discussion
A week in on the wegovy jabs now. Appetite definately reduced and the scales say 1.5kg down, though I suspect that is a lot of water weight, also due to the heat, backed up by the colour of my pee.
Had some minor indigestion over the week, nothing to bad.
Second jab at 2 this afternoon, burps tonight seem a bit fishy? I was expecting more of an eggy burp with the talk of sulphur?

Day 2 and I couldn’t eat my dinner. Not that I felt full but I just didn’t fancy it. Still had snacks tonight but again after a few cashew nuts I felt like I didn’t want any more. Previously I’d have scoffed the full packet.
Very very strange feeling.
So far no side effects thankfully.

Sounds promising! Hopefully tomorrow it will start working for me.Very very strange feeling.

Day three for me. It’s hit me today. I’ve not had ANYTHING to eat at all (it’s 5pm!). Just not felt like it. I’m going to force myself to eat some dinner now, but just not hungry at all. Very thirsty though. Wonder if that’s the heat or the tablets but had 3 litres of water already.
This is the 1.5mg tablet, I assume there’s a big drop off as they eventually want me on 25mg!
Zero side effects to date. Just a weird feeling of not been hungry or desire to eat. Normally I’m snacking all day, if this keeps up I can understand how people are literally losing stones and stones.
It does worry me about lack of vitamins and nutrients that my body needs so I’m going to force myself to eat healthy stuff tomorrow (apples etc).

Drinking a lot of water is key, heatwave or not. I'm 16 months in and have drunk a lot of water all the way through. The inconvenience of needing to pee a lot is worth it. Don't eat nothing though, try and give your body a constant supply of quality food (especially protein to fight against muscle loss). I have a portion pack of those little breakfast bissuits when I get up (look like 3 slices of garibaldi), then something at lunchtime then something in the evening, I just rarely snack other than fruit between 'meals'. Boiled eggs are a good source of protein - I like pickled eggs so so batches of 24 in a Costco large gherkins jar so always some in the fridge. Good luck to the newbies.

Out of interest, what percentage have you lost roughly in 16 months? Do you fear stopping and piling it back on again? Or do you think the ‘not eating much’ routine has become second nature?audi321 said:

I know you're asking him but ill answer for my own experience.I've found that it does seem to supress thirst so it's important to drink. There are have been some odd occasions where the hunger is come back sharply, almost screaming, but for me its been because of thirst and it goes away after 15min.. Injection for me takes at least 1.-2 days to kick in for me. in 12 months I've lost 28kg/61lbs. 108>80kg. It's slowed down massively in the last 3kg and I'm gradually going down the doses. For me side effects went up as dosage went up, side effects being most stronger on dose 1-2 of going up.

Big frame and 6 foot 1. Hope to continue a bit more weight off after that just from activiity and calorie burning. Reading foot labels for calories was quite eye opening. MJ has been genuinely life changing for me. Bought a little convertible 'family pool car' (old SLK) in Feb' now I can fit in one and a bit of fun for me and the family as well as a little 'self present'. I'm a biker too and so much more comfortable on my bikes and doing much more miles even in the heat - less sweaty! I know I'm an extreme example having started so heavy but good luck with your goal. Not just about eating less but eating 'better' - don't starve yourself as body won't react well to that.

The Mounjaro 5mg isnt having as much of an effect on me as the Wegovy 2nd dose did, I can tell I'm less hungry but its not making me feel super full. Scales are saying similar, maintaining really.
Going to have ot try a little harder next week.
Why did you switch from wegovy? Going to have ot try a little harder next week.
I went from the highest dose of MJ and stopped suddenly in January when the big price rise hit. Put on 10kg in 4 weeks!
Now worked my way up to 7.2 Wegovy jab. God it’s hard to eat enough. Put me off alcohol as well. I’m battling the last bit as I like to go out with friends.
I was an early adopter of MJ and have lost 30kg but for the past 20 months I’ve been going to the gym 5-6 times a week. I lost so much muscle in the first 6 months. Now 125kg and 6’2” tall and big build.
At the gym I lift heavy weights and at 54 years old muscle doesn’t go on as easy as when your 25!
Not losing at the moment as I’m still trying to bulk up. I think it’s impossible to bulk up and lose weight at the same time.

I found that whilst wegovy killed my appetite, I still felt hypoglycaemic so dizzy, feint, basically like you haven't eaten. With MJ, it seems to balance out your blood sugar so even though you're not eating you don't notice/feel dizzy etc. There are limits to this though, I still run (albeit a lot slower!), but if I run too far or don't eat enough I crash really badly afterwards.Edited by ben5575 on Sunday 12th July 21:04

How were you eating? Did you go back to old habits? Were you eating/drinking mindfully?I hear alot about these kind of things of people coming off and i find it concerning. I haven't gone off it yet, but the thing that worries me alot when coming off is wasting all the money and time spent on the drug only to pile it back on.
I posted my thoughts about this last year, as an early adopter I hit my goal weight and went cold turkey. In hindsight tailoring down the doses might have been a better idea.
For me, all the old bad food habits came back with a vengeance. No amount of food would leave me feeling ‘full’ and I craved sugar and fats and everything bad. It took a lot of willpower to kerb that… weight eventually normalised 3kg below my start weight. Not ideal given the financial outlay.
Things I would have done differently? Made better food choices when on MJ. I found it very easy to eat ‘badly, just smaller portions, and still saw weight loss. I stopped going to the gym - two reasons for that 1) I had bad fatigue on MJ and exercise was not helping 2) the gym was always a tool to lose weight… but if the jab is doing the heavy lifting why make the effort to go to the gym…?
In hindsight many many bad choices made. With the oversight of a proper medical professional and not an internet pharmacist, maybe my results would have been better and more sustainable. It also reinforces that there are many many reasons why people are fat - and just telling someone to eat less and move more doesn’t really solve any underlying issues. Yes the jabs are a good part of the toolkit, but they aren’t the complete solution.
With all that said, I’ve ordered the pills to see how I get
On. Very much eyes open now on their limitations and what needs to change on my side. The pills will be an aide, not the answer (hopefully).

There are loads of reasons some of us get fat including genetic, physiological, lack of exercise, diet etc.
Most people using the drug seem to have excellent weight loss but unless we try and address the reason we got big/fat in the first place we will just get fat again.
I do not want to be fat again so am prepared to be more careful with my diet etc. Some people may benefit from counselling via a dietitian etc.
I have not put weight on again but monitor it and if/when it increases I am careful but would happily use a maintenance dose to keep it under control.
I now regularly:
Weigh myself at least three times a week (I like smart scales that log and graph my details)
Increase my step count and will never do less than my set minimum.
Drink less alcohol and less regularly.
Try to eat smaller portions.
Try to eat less sweeties/chocolate.
Eat less junk food.
Anybody enduring the cost and doing the commitment to lose the weight must surely realise that they have to do something different or they will be back to square one once they come off it.
