I stopped for a few reasons:

1) It started making me feel depressed - I can't pin point it to this exactly but began ruling things out and as soon as I stopped my mood lifted within a few days.

2) Cost - Goes without saying

3) As it's not fully tested I didn't want to be on it permanently. I had tried Semaglutide in the past and the weight absolutely fell off on that stuff but it made me feel like I had a permanent hangover - very low energy and nauseous.
I can understand the depression angle fully, anhedonia I think it s called and I definitely experienced it at the start.

That being said, if cost and testing status were worrying you then I would say you likely had issues with your sourcing so maybe weren’t taking Reta at all?

As lost in space alludes to below, there are limits to what can be said (although buying or possessing Reta in the UK isn t illegal) but cost and testing status are trivial in the grey space, not even worth worrying about.

Medexpress sent a fairly generic August Bank Holiday discount code for 25% off but it was not valid.

Tried a couple of days ago and also today as they resent the email
Is it working for everyone else?

Edit, it was a discount code for everything other than GLP-1 meds.... The only thing I've ever bought from there. Cheers guys, not.

Day 100! I started out obese at 106.4kg and have just weighed in at 87.7kg - 300g shy of NHS’s ‘healthy’ range.
Whilst I’m aware bmi is only a single metric, it’s clear I’m in a much better position than I was 100 days ago and I don’t think I’d have been anywhere near that without the jabs.

I’ve been very active over this time with a house renovation so haven’t had time for any structured gym work etc and will need to focus on that over the next 100 days. Still aiming for around 77kg as the middle of a healthy range, but will be more focussed on how I look and feel than a set weight. Either way my blood pressures dropped back to safe levels so anything from here is a bonus.

At some point I’ve got to consider what happens when the target is reached and plans for stopping/maintaining but for now it’s onto the final 10…

Some great stories on here and I was wondering if anyone is on the second attempt so to speak? . Lost a couple of stone last year on a max of 5g in 6. months, Came off it , put a 3rd back on, that was expected and then lost focus a bit and it almost went up to where I had started

Back on it this time with a lot more structure, discipline and the PT at the Gym giving me a plan.

Kind of.

Jan 2025 I started to shift some weight. By July I had about 10kg. But I stalled.

Used Wegovy from October to Jan/Feb time. Lost 5kg. Cost got too much so stopped.

July this year I was 126kg. 20kg down. Then summer with work got in the way and im back up to 135ish.

On my second dose of MJ now and down 3.1kg in ten days. MJ seems better for me.

Ordered a second pen already to tie in with pay day. I want to stay on 2.5 for as long as possible.

Im also working harder at the gym. Going twice a week often three times a week. One of the sessions is with a PT.

Month three on the tablets for me coming up. I’ve just requested to remain on the current dose (4mg) as the weight is coming off slowly (which I like tbh). I don’t like the way the price goes up with the dosage either which was another factor.

I'm 3 weeks off the jab now, I've lost another 1lb/0.45kg in that time. I think I'm at a natural plateau so while it's a little less than I'd expect I'm sure a little more will drop off over the next week or so.

Crucially though, my eating hasn't changed at all, I'm still doing around 2000-2100 calories a day, decent meals, balanced and filling so I'm not getting hungry. I know the peek of the peak of suppression is around day 3 and the drug can last a while in your system but 3 weeks on, if I'm still feeling good then I'm confident I can carry it on! I'm on my holidays next year so fingers crossed I manage to survive that laugh

I've been off it for over 6 months now and have managed to lose another 5lbs. I'm always more active this time of the year so I think that has helped. I'm on 2 meals a day and managed to stop eating between meals completely. Get a few snacky moments but overall I have a handle on it.

Reduced plate size and portions at home and when eating out I try to leave 20%. This has been quite hard being raised as a member of the "clean plate club" but I find it works. Where possible I eat the protein first, then the veg and finish on the carbs so in most cases the 20% is carbs. Obviously this doesnt work with everything, pizza etc

Still early days but really hoping I have it sorted now

Well done, I also have to clear my plate. Italian MIL doesn't understand that on a Thursday night dinner so I've started swapping my plate with hers before she gets to the table. Good shout with leaving a bit of food on purpose, might give that a go.

Same for me. And my mother still tries to make our toddler finish her plate banghead

3rd dose of 0.25mg today and another 1kg down for the week.
Treated myself to a lovely roast tonight, skipped the toasties but I'm currently suffering with the sts. Same thing after the large curry we had last week. Clearly unbalancing by stomach, so it's working!

Side effects still the same but feels like a constant hangover some days.

I made a mistake yesterday. Took mum out for a late lunch at a lovely local place, they do an all-day breakfast. I've not had one in years and thought it looked appealling.

It was great, really enjoyed it until about 5 mins after; I hadn't even cleared the plate (as is typical for me when eating out and I can't control portion sizes) but I got a sharp pain at the top of my stomach by my solar plexus.

I recognised it having had it about a year ago and this is apparently why:

"Eating a traditional English breakfast while taking Mounjaro frequently triggers stomach pain, severe indigestion, and nausea because the heavy, greasy foods overwhelm a digestive system slowed down by the medication."

Yep, that's been me since yesterday afternoon and adding acid reflux to the symptoms. I've slept terribly, just had to wait for the food to transit slowly. It's only now starting to ease.

Lesson learned.

Thank you, perhaps not as life-changingly significant as your losses but definitely something I’d never previously achieved!

I think from the outside looking in the concept of jabs=lose weight is simplistic, but it’s still not easy and the right choices still need to be made. I’m aware that I’ve still got improvements to make to my overall health and nutrition otherwise I’ll definitely scale back up again. A work in progress!

I just got a new Porsche so will have to stay on the gear for the foreseeable future.

I can’t be a fat middle aged man getting around in a Porsche, how tragic would that look!

I did ten years in a GT4 and a couple of GT3’s all with carbon buckets, the new one has 18 way seats and comfort entry that moves the seat back and the steering wheel out of the way when you turn it off so getting out of it is not as undignified as the GT cars was.

Second pen was ordered via Medicspot on Saturday. Cheapest on the comparison site (2.5 MJ for under £100).

Very inpressed. Turned up today. They have provided 100 needles as well. Not sure why.

My first order last year came with a huge box of needles. I assume that's the smallest box they do and it isn't worth the effort of someone chucking a few in with each order. I could perhaps offset the cost of the jabs by selling the surplus needles on ebay....

In other related news, I usually take my weekly jab on a Sunday evening or Monday morning, so this week the Bank Holiday plans got entangled with the schedule and I ended up eating a normal meal yesterday evening (just some salmon and rice...) and a beer in the pub, when I normally can't face eating much in the 24hours or so after the jab.

Barely slept overnight, felt overly full, doing the loudest burps you could imagine, etc.
