Mr R, for what its worth I reckon it has simply been a thoughtless throwaway comment and perhaps you are a little tetchy due to the cut? I'm afraid I don't buy the 'fat apologist' comments, it doesnt resonate with me or my experiences. Live and let live. If someone, anyone wants to make derogatory comments about anyone's appearance, sexuality, whatever, challenge them, don't assume they are a barometer for others. The irony of HH post above is not lost on me.
Yeah, on reflection, Throwaway and me being tetchy is pretty much spot on, mate. Am I that arsed? Not really, just tetchy. Where s the doughnuts? Edited by biggbn on Friday 28th November 17:05

Amazing to see some great transformations this year (and work going back beyond for some).
In a last-ditch effort to be under 100kg at Christmas (or at least before I go away for Christmas), I've created a daft game with financial penalties; the proceeds going in the work lads Christmas tip jar. I'm usually disappeared from the thread by now so the fact I still care I'm taking as progress.
For much of the year I've eaten well and done a shift on the rowing machine. This time of year I'll accept one or the other.
If I do NEITHER on a given day I pay a a penalty. I then have 24 hours to earn it back by eating well AND rowing 10k the following day. The first penalty I did indeed take it back the next day. Yesterday was a blip and although I've eaten well today, I don't see how I'll have time to row so the cash stays in the pot.
It does seem to have given me a mini kick up the bum (after a poor few weeks). Whatever happens I'm on the thread next year and want to get lower again.
You know what? It sounds daft but I get it…In fact, I’ve recently adopted a similar strategy which I’ve aptly called training debt. After resistance training (the good stuff) I typically finish with 30 min on the stairmaster (not so good stuff). If I can’t be arsed, too tired, run out of time..I’m now in dept and like a credit card if I don’t clear it, it keeps building and before long I owe so much that a small deposit makes little difference. Injuries excluded :hehe.
As promised here’s a before and after having hit my target and losing 5 and a half stone.
I was going to blur my face for anonymity, but I carried so much weight in my face, I think it needs to stay. I do also have to admit, when I was at my biggest, I never, or very rarely went out drinking for fear of being judged, so there’s no old photos of me in a bar.

I get a lot of comments on how much younger I look now, and I think I agree, I was 25 in the first photo, and 31 now.
I guess we also need the belly! The only image I have is from a dash cam still, so I recreated the after with another dash cam still, though note this was a couple of weeks before hitting my target weight.

Incredible transformation man!! Well done!! I was going to blur my face for anonymity, but I carried so much weight in my face, I think it needs to stay. That's a really good effort and end result; well done! I was going to blur my face for anonymity, but I carried so much weight in my face, I think it needs to stay. Well done, that is an awesome transformation. Honestly look like a completely different person!I was going to blur my face for anonymity, but I carried so much weight in my face, I think it needs to stay. Did my weigh in this morning and have lost 1.9KG in the last week. So far I have lost 22.8KG and just shy of 10KG left to lose to get to my target weight of 85KG. Currently doing 2hrs of cardio and 1 hour of weight training 6 days a week and have a PT helping me twice a week. Honestly never been so motivated especially now I can see the end goal in sight!
Thank you all for your kind words
I will add, while my big transformation is the weight, I've also put a lot more effort into my general appearance, things like doing my hair, keeping some tidy stubble, and going to the barber every 4-6 weeks, not 4-6 months! It's very strange looking at the old photos, as it is like looking at a different person, I was so unhappy at that time, having constant takeaways, or McDonalds, I had zero confidence, but instead of making changes, just kind of wallowed in self pity and ate my demons away.
I'm thinking my next step will be a bit of buffing up, nothing crazy, I don't want to be really muscular, but I've got the muscle density of a toddler, so just a little more would be nice.

That's fantastic! Seeing the end in sight is a huge motivator, and those last 10kg for me at least were when I really started to notice the difference when I looked in the mirror. carlove said:

Cheers! I have some photos from just before I started my weight loss journey and I can already see a huge difference , especially my face. When I get to my goal weight I cannot wait to see the before and after photos. I woke up this morning and made the decision......The cut is now officially done.
I've reached a point where my body is telling me that it's time....
I've given everything, especially these last 4+ months, training almost everyday, always to high level of intensity while always being hyper focused on my nutrition. The last few weeks have signalled a gradual decline in my endurance and recovery, so pushing my body further with such little fuel will not benefit me.
I will now start the slow reverse diet by carefully increasing my intake by 50-100 calories per week (mainly carbs) until it reaches my new maintenance, which, if done right will be around 2800-3000kcal. This, for my age will put me in great place for continued training and recovery.
I expect to lose another 2-4lb during this phase so my goal of abs is still on the table.
Thanks to all those that have championed me since I started 38kg ago....When you're deep in the throws of lifestyle change, words of encouragement, advice and support mean a lot, like added guide rails to keep going, so again, Thanks.
Before - 19st 2lb

After - 13st dead

Mr. Roper, that’s an amazing transformation - congrats! Seeing the before and after photos from you and others in this thread really boosts my motivation to keep working toward my goal. As you mentioned, the encouragement from everyone here makes a big difference too!
I am aiming to get down to 85 KG (13st 5lb) and see how I feel when I get to that stage. I am really enjoying the gym at the moment and will probably extend my PT sessions from March for another 4 months . At the moment whilst I am in the process of cutting fat I don't think my muscle mass will increase have increased that much but when I get to my target weight I can start to ramp things up a bit. I am going to be 40 next year so whilst I have the motivation behind me I may as well go for it! It will only get harder for me the older I get.
