Under 18st today, 17st 13lb, 47lb lost.
Great job, it always feels good to get into the next set of stones (I could not work out how to word that, but I hope you know what I'm meaning).

To add to the last few posts, I'm coming very close to my target weight, and while I've only been on this thread for the final few months of my 3.5 year and 5 stone weight loss journey, I've found the posts about maintaining a weight, and the success and failures that come with that really vital, and hope people who are maintaining their target weight keep posting here, I'm hoping to be joining with such posts in a couple of weeks.

Edit this morning, as I’ve got under 14st, with 13st 13, total loss of 5st 3 and 3 little pounds to go until my target weight.

New low today of 186.5lb (13st4lb)....Slow going but consistent. Upside to the slow grind is even small fat losses make a big difference.

Unearthed the first tank top I bought before stepping foot in the gym at 19st +.... Sweet baby jebus, I had some heft back then. hehe

Onwards!

I passed my fitness test at work. For me its a mental issue rather than physical. I get myself worked up leading up to it.

Last two years I've done the alternative treadmill test rather than the bleep test. Party due to my dodgy knees that cause issues from the turning, but also the anxiety i get from the bleep test.

The treadmill test is a 6kph walk for ten minutes. Every two minutes the incline increases by 3%.

The bleep test is 5.4 on the 15m distance. A lot easier.

Last year I struggled with the treadmill test. Breathing out my arse for the last two minutes at 12%.

This year, so much easier! I was able to have a normal conversation with the trainer.

Definitely helped being two stone down and going to the gym regularly.

My weight loss has kinda stalled. Im struggling with work and comfort eating. Im looking at the injections to help. My partner isnt keen, but ive got such a huge amount to shift I think the side effects are outweighed by the health benefits of being 30kg lighter...

Boys, lentil bread. Tasty, easy, and helps with those bread cravings, keeping you full for longer, even against seeded wholemeal stuff. Cheap to make too, amd you know what goes into it.

This one, just out of the oven, is turmeric, feta, jalapeño and olive.

Toasted with a poached egg on top; excellent breakfast.

@LosingGrip: Also, on the fitness thing, it's massive side benefit to actuve weight loss.

We have a "do a mile on a spin bike for charity" thing this week at work. There is also a leaderboard for time, if you want to play. You can do it at any speed to get the money, but there are bonuses for faster times.

I decided to sprint my mile. Got a 2 minute 17 second, which when I looked it up, is pretty good for someone who doesnt do any sprint cycling.

The idea of me doing this one year and 10kg ago does does not compute. I was out of breath after climbing the stairs.

Keep at it...benefits are huge, properly huge.

In preparation for spending a week in the US over Thanksgiving, decided to make an effort to slim down a bit again having been steady for best part of this year now. Started at 73.4kg 3 weeks ago, dropped to 72.7kg last week, kept the same diet, no extra calories, this week shows 73.3KG. I know why I stopped stepping on the scales after a while now.

Not checked in on this thread for quite some time. Still working on the weight loss. Started the year at 107kg. Just dropped below 92kg today. I had a little wobble a few months ago and my weight started to increase, but back in the zone ATM and close to the 90kg target. I can almost taste it.

Here is one from a few years back at a similar weight to the start of the year.

And today

Done about 6000 miles on my bike this year, and the difference the weight loss has made to my riding is immense. Absolutely loving riding the bike again and being fairly competitive on Zwift and IRL.

90kg is the main goal, then maybe 85kg at a push. Can't believe where I've come from and where I am now. Well done to all those on the journey.

Brilliant, well done!

I was actually looking through some pictures from 6 years ago, just after my youngest had been born, I was running around getting a business off the. ground, eating crap, not sleeping, not exercising. I was at nearly 19 stone, heaviest I ever got, sweated walking up the stairs, felt awful, there's no pictures of me looking happy at all, despite becoming a Dad and being my own boss and trying to be happy!

This is 2 weeks ago, youngest slightly in the pic, 8 stone lighter, exercising regularly, feeling good, at a height I'd have needed a stepladder for 6 years ago.

It's good to look at pictures, I don't remember ever looking at myself and thinking what a mess I look. But I really did!

Thanks fellas, it’s amazing how much better you feel and how much more energy you have.

This thread spurred me on so keep at it guys.

I just need to keep it off now.

I went from 18 to 11.5 stone 15 years ago and it’s gradually sneaked up. Pretty sire if I go another 15 years with it slowly creeping up then it’ll be a lot harder to lose at 55.

Managed to trigger tendonitis in my big toe again so no gym for a week and is still sore now. Swelled up and was hard to bend it. Isn't gout. Has been in the other toe over the years and comes and goes. Think pushing weight with my toes on the leg press too much is the trigger this time. But I've had it before from running and impacting a stone right on the ball of my foot. Need to work out when it heals, how I can work on making them stronger somehow. May do an upper body session tonight to get back to it.

Over the last month or so i've not really been concentrating on my weight per se but rather my blood sugar levels as i'm a T2 diabetic.

I use a freestyle libre to monitor my blood sugar levels and by trying to keep that as low as possible i've found that slowly i'm losing a bit each week, not huge amounts but its steadily dropping and more importantly my hba1c is getting dangerously close to hitting the normal range.

After weighing this morning i'm now at 96.9kg and my hba1c is now 45 mmol so i'm happy with results and will just keep doing the same and hoping it continues to drop.

I well and truly fell off the wagon. Ironically caused partially by an Ultra Marathon! I did a 100km in mid September with minimal training (I went up to 10km...) as life had got in the way of training but I wasn't able to postpone it so stubbornly went and did it anyway with the plan to drop out at 50km if I wasn't feeling it. Got to that point and felt ok so carried on with the wheels falling off at 70km. I shuffled the last 30km and finished in 15 hours.

I ended up with some fairly nasty blisters but also quite bad tendonitis in my left foot which stopped me from exercising for about 4 weeks alongside having a wisdom tooth out stopping me doing anything for a further 2 weeks. I also then had a couple of work trips away with the resulting food and drink that comes with it! The ultra also super charged my hunger so I just ate everything in sight for weeks.

As a result of all this I weighed in yesterday at 107kg which is by far my heaviest. Last Thursday I was walking back from Maccies on another trip away which was only about 500m from the hotel on a slight incline. I was out of breath and sweating profusely by the time I got back which was just embarrassing, also felt a bit of pressure around my heart. So i've given myself a kick up the backside and the aim to break 100kg by Xmas which I think is doable. I actually started on Saturday with a Parkrun in my slowest time of 26:30 so at least got that as a benchmark to improve on.

I bought a Bulldog 20kg weighted vest in the summer. Tried it once, dIdn't get on with it, stuffed it in a cupboard and forgot about it until now (just looking for a pair of jeans - been wearing shorts all year! ).

If a PHer wants to give it a go, I'm in Chesham, Bucks. Bit heavy to mail.

I'm too far away, but do you rate them?

My wife has arthritis and so cannot grip weights, but wants to do old fashioned exercises for bone health/longevity (farmer's walks/squats etc) - a weighted vest could be the ideal solution

It wasn't for me, but PHers were singing their praises earlier in the thread so I bought one. Probably can find posts about them with a bit of patience playing with search.

Big milestone for me today , lost 3.5lb this week and have now totalled 20.2KG weight loss since I started my journey. I am currently 97.3KG and my target weight is 85KG so just around 12KG left to lose. I am still on 2.5MG dosage of Mounjaro which is working great for me but I am still trying to do 15K-17K steps daily as well as weights at the gym 4 times a week.
