Bargain or money pit? Or both?!https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202410205...
Well this one qualifies as it is (probably suspiciously) well under 20k.

Not suspicious at all! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/226417274335?
Saw that a few moments ago and came on here to ask "are they really that cheap now".
Why am I wasting my time looking at other stuff like Excels at £10K when I could have an Evora for £16K?
There must be a catch surely.
Car prices have dropped of course, can't sell my Boxster for more than a couple of cans of beans.

I'm also sat in "stubborn mode" with my Caterham. Why am I wasting my time looking at other stuff like Excels at £10K when I could have an Evora for £16K?

I know it's out of season and demand is low. But just having to make sure mine is the best proposition on the market and hope one day someone bites.
Had 3 viewings and test drives and 2 decided to "wait a bit" and 1 bought a more expensive newer one which I don't think I could've helped.

It's an absolutely horrendous time to be selling any sort of non essential item. There are very few genuine buyers of toy/second cars around at the moment. Just lots of time wasters who's hobby is pretending they are buying a car.
True. However there are also a lot of sellers who seem to be pretending to sell a car as they don’t reply at all to enquiries. I enquired about a car that said the “interior is a bit tatty”, so I rang (voicemail) and emailed asking what they meant and could they describe what was needed or better still send a picture or two of the bits needing attention.
2 more calls and emails and not a hint of a reply, 3 months later the car is still for sale or car and classics.

But if you've got a Capri 2.8i or a 3.0 Essex, and it's priced right, it'll sell in a few days I'm, finding.
'Priced right' is the key to anything though, a Capri is a popular choice for a classic(?) and the market is large but with more competition. I think they've still depreciated in the last year or so, like most things. Gassing Station | Evora | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
