Whoops,

Looks like OP has traded the Evora for an Aston, but that was his other choice anyway.

The Recaros in the Evora S and SR are miles better then the Chinese made Sparco`s in the 400. SR is the pick for best comfort/quality.
I've recently swapped my 350 sport for a 400, the seats are very comfy, first drive home was 4.5 hours and I could easily have turned round and done the trip again without any problems
I looked at an Evora S Sport Racer before buying my 400, personally prefer the 400 interior in every way.
The Sport Racer I looked at had 11k miles on the clock and wasn't particularly impressed by how they'd worn, leather looks a little tired and worn in places where as the 400 at the same dealer (granted only 6k on the clock) looked like new (as you'd hope).

Currently getting over a torn disc and trapped nerve in my back and out of all our cars the Evora 400 is the least unpleasant of all our cars both for getting in and out of and general ride quality. The Fiesta ST with its horribly shaped Recaros (too much lumbar shaping) with big side bolsters and atrocious ride is absolute agony.

Find the Evora 400 more comfortable than our V12 Vantage personally, although if the Vantage had the optional lightweight seats it would be a close run thing.

I’ve done quite a few miles in both my S1 Evora and my 400. The Recaros in the S1 are more comfortable, but not by much. The Sparcos however breathe better. Given a straight choice, I’d probably opt for the Original Recaros, but not the later ones.

Personally not a fan of the later Recaros, the leather is harder and inferior to the originals to try and wear better, personally I think the way they wear looks worse and the bolsters on the originals can always be treated when they wear.

Just wondering, did you ever come to a conclusion as I am currently considering an Evora and also suffer from lower back pain in many cars.

Cheers
Sorry - late to the party.

Bought an S1 Evora, very much enjoyed it for a year or so. Decided I wanted to also tick the Aston box so moved on to one of those.

Evora was a fantastic car all in all and in answer to the seat question - supremely comfortable. My regular jaunt is Leeds>Southampton and back and did that many occasions in one hit and no problems at all. Really comfortable car.

I did test drive an Evora 400 and found the Sparcos a damn sight harder than the Recaros in the S1 and also felt I sat a bit higher. I was only in the car an hour or so but wasn't convinced. I also found the suspension a lot tighter. Great in terms of sportiness but less GT than the S1.

400 is definitely a bit stiffer than the earlier cars. I quite like the seating position though - probably helps that I'm not that tall, but relatively long legged - but it makes it easier to get in and out, and makes it easier to position the car on the road as you can see a bit more over the front wings.

Its certainly way easier to position on narrower roads than the Vantage. You're not really sat that high in it, but the scuttle is relatively low, so you have a fairly short and low nose.
