Leaking Soft Top

Hi All,

I have a MK2 Elise S (56 plate), and having moved about 18months ago to a new house without a garage I discover that my roof seems to leak where the car is parked.

Can anyone suggest why it should leak when parked in the rain but not when driving and advise what I can do to stop it ?
I've had to take the carpets out of both foot wells as there was 2 / 3 mm of standing water in there... I could invest in a cover but it does detract a bit from the look ! :-)

Are there some seals or something that need to be replaced?

Yeah I think so... by the passenger window somewhere there but the source isn't clear.
I can see splash marks where the large drops of water have come in and obviously the floor and carpets are wet (quite a bit on the drivers side too but there's no obvious sign of ingress there, oddly). When I've got in the car on a rainy day a large drip appears on the underside of the release mechanism, so I'm guessing it's something to do with this...

I'd say most likely your side window isn't aligned quite correctly; that can allow water to seep between the window and the roof.

Yep - sounds like your window needs adjusting. Had similar on my VX220 (same roof) and after adjusting the windows it cured most of the leaking.

There'll be some guides online on how to do it. It's not a difficult job, just fking fiddly.

As above, there's an adjuster behind the door panel that moves the window in an out. It's quite common to need adjusting.
