Okey doke, so I'm not sure how to post up multiple pics so here is one to start with from earlier today after I'd just driven the A686 Haydon Bridge to Penrith (perhaps the best stretch of road in England) which I am lucky enough to have right on my doorstep.

First impressions are 'what a car', very easy to drive quickly and coming off a classic Lotus Elan I can really feel the DNA - especially in the steering feel. I think I am going to love this car.

One interesting thing to report - the day before I collected her I was amazed to discover, when trawling You Tube as you do, that my Evora, AU60 AXG, plays a starring role in this documentary which is worth watching in it's own right. I was doing a double take when I saw the plate and realised it was actually my new car!

..top of Hartside with the old ruined cafe in the background - a recent local news items said it's been sold to a developer who is going to knock it down and build a new modern cafe and hostel complex (hope it actually happens)

I'm enjoying my Evora though the chance of using it regularly has been curtailed by the awful weather. Initial impressions:

1) I've never had a car where so many idiots want to 'race' you, usually in the most anodine of cars (I don't bite)

2) I have the close box - would not want the ratios to be any longer as most overtakes require dropping two cogs

3) You have to rev it to make it go - it's actually rather quick when you do (and quite enough for me)

4) Haven't got even close to exploring it's true handling limits/ability - I fancy a track/tuition day

5) Any crawling or flying insect love the Solar Yellow

6) It's super comfy and, whilst quiet, I have no desire to make it any more noisy

7) I can't keep the wife off it - she's the only one who has had it to 120 (not saying where!)

8) I'm 'learning' the getting in an out routine!

9) I'm either very lucky or the gearchange quality 'issue' is over played - mine is better than the wife's 3 year old TT
