So here it is my new (to me) Evora S IPS
So far loving it; few quirks to get used to but the drive and the sound are amazing IPS is better than I hoped and gives the car a split personality which is great round town, and amazing when you press the sports button on an open bit of road.

Big thanks to Sumison who I bought the car from (lovely chap) and big thanks to lotus Silverstone who went above and beyond to help me out

Nice smile

Saw it there when I was last at Silverstone, colour is great and suits the car well.

Lotus Silverstone are always excellent to deal with, I have bought 2 Evoras from them - and that reminds me, I owe Ben an email.

So a week in and really enjoying it but not getting to drive it as much as I would like. Horrible weather!
Quirks that bug me so far (very minor):
- Indicator stalk is a really long way from the steering wheel
- The accelerator and brake pedal are way too close together. I might have to make an adjustment of some sort. Maybe it's an IPS thing as the brake pedal is massive
- Sunvisor is completely pointless (sunglasses essential)
- Radio isn't the most intuitive to use

Things I love:
- the noise, oh the noise!
- it's fast, properly fast
- blips on the downshift in sport mode, so addictive
- so much grip

I got round to washing it this week too, quite a lot of tar on the paint so it needs a lot more attention than I had to give it. Still looks good though ...

Oh and it's developed a loud clunk from the off-site front. Need to get it up in the air and work out what it is frown

You get used to the indicator stalk, but it irritated me a bit at first

On the manual version the pedal spacing is perfect for heel and toe, I tend to wear puma speed cats or similar for driving the Evora and have no issues with pedal spacing (mine is also IPS)

Sunvisor, yup mostly pointless, the need a folding version like the old MX5 ones

Radio. Depends which version you have. I have an Alpine one and its better to use than the factory fitted one in my wife's newish Octavia

I'll add a few of my irritations -

external a pillar trims come unstuck and flutter
tailgate struts seem to fail frequently
If you run Michelin Pilot SS at the correct pressures a la Evora 400 the tyre pressure system shows them as under inflated

On the plus points

Noise yes please

Speed - I want more smile

I like the crack you get on upshift in sport mode

Grip is great, but n/a is a bet sweeter and having followed and driven a Ferrari 360 in the pyrenees, I can see the benefit the Ferrari has of a lower centre of gravity and less body roll. It inspires more confidence and understeers less.

Looks like a baby supercar

Surprisingly comfortable

Knocking sound from front over bumps is often the anti-roll bar mounting bushes. The OEM versions last about 6k miles! I've replaced mine with purple Powerflex poly bushes and no further issues after 10k miles.

Thanks. I had read about ARB bushes but not come across the powerflex.
It's not just over bumps. Almost sounds like something rolling around...

Winner! Couldn't believe how little there was left of it or the amount of crap behind the arch liner

Stainless replacement now in place...

Nice to see someone else not afraid to works on their own car :-)

I've been looking for an Evora for a little while and was vaguely considering looking at this one - it actually looks better in your pics than in the dealer photos, very nice.

There's a couple of others at Silverstone that have been hanging around for a while I guess on Sale or Return but a couple of quid more than I'd want to pay. No idea how haggling works with SoR but maybe I should wander up there. If you have any tips about your buying experience drop me a PM if you get a chance.

No tips but offers do get passed through to the owners I believe. Bear in mind that Silverstone obviously take a chunk of the sale which will limit how much any owner will likely budge on price but a lot of evora aren't selling quickly at the moment so there are deals to be had.

What I can tell you is the guys at silverstone are excellent, very helpful, friendly yet professional. Completely recommended by me.

Thanks and fair point re the dealer's margin. Pricing does seem to be a bit all over the place with a few 'optimistically' priced cars that have been unsold most of the year. Seeing yours might just give me the kick up the backside I need to start haggling.

I was tempted by this one...currently looking for an S IPS model that is not black or grey, was just not sold on this colour - but it does look better in your pictures.
Looks a great car, enjoy.

Thanks. It does look much better in the metal (plastic?) Than in photos.get yourself one. You won't be disappointed.
Don't be put off by the early reviews on the IPS which slated it. It works really nicely and the software has had a lot of updates since it was launched.
Sure it's not the purists choice but it's very good
