Picked my new to me Evora up from Silverstone today - what nice people.

According to the service notes and manual I should have an alarm serial number, 4 digit key code and a 5 digit immobiliser PIN, all of which would have been on a plastic tag that I don't have.

What I do have is a 6 digit number written again 'key number' in the service book and in the format 'Tnnnnnn'. Before I call them up can anyone tell me what the T-number is for and confirm I am actually missing some info?

Ta.

The key number and the PIN are different

I didn’t get the PIN with mine either

The dealers have to get the code from Lotus for you

I’ve got no idea how long it takes to get it as I only looked for mine on Wednesday ...

I spoke to the excellent Robert at Silverstone this morning who requested it from Lotus and within an hour I was sorted. It seems that the Tnnnnnn number replaces the four digit key number (possibly by including the code for the immobiliser) and I now have the emergency PIN. Top service.

Hi .. first off many thanks for your earlier replies.. On a happier note I take it that like me you've just bought an Evora? in which case congrats.. Day 2 for me.. if only it would stop raining so I could enjoy it.

I believe the dealers have to pay a fee to Lotus to get the codes but if you get no joy from whoever you asked it might be worth contacting a main dealer to see if they can help.

I’m 3 weeks into ownership and have had about 50% wet days since I got it and so far it’s taken whatever weather has been thrown at it in its stride

Fabulous car

I bought the car privately but contacted the main dealer I’ve dealt with whenever I needed parts for my Elise for the PIN and I expect to have to pay for it

I’ll give them a ring on Monday and se if there is some delay getting it due to the fact that I’m not in the UK so perhaps the delay is caused by the proof of ownership documentation not being the same as a V5 or something like that

I have 1 working key for now and that’s all I need to enjoy the car anyway

I have to say a massive thanks to Paul in the Oakmere Lotus dealership for sorting me out with the PIN for my car and now I’ve finally got 2 working keys.

The procedure for synchronising the second key isn’t difficult but is a bit fiddly and it took me a couple of attempts to get the code entered properly but once I got the code in it was simple to get the key paired.

This is a 10 minute job ..... maximum
