I wonder if the Lotus team read this over a cup of tea and a biscuit during there breaks to have a chuckle.
The way that their efforts are endlessly and unrealistically criticised by forum members, I would guess they avoid reading what is said here if they can.RonnieP said:

Maybe I've been turning a blind eye, but I haven't noticed much Lotus criticism on here of late? Yes, the Evora's pig ugly, but I think most of us agree on that. I haven't heard any specific criticism of Lotus - they build the best driver's cars in the world, and I think almost everyone has that opinion don't they?..
Spot on, all I, and others, have ever said is the car is ugly and seems a bit expensive. I bet its great to drive and I'm looking forward to driving it! You never know even the looks will be ok in real life! Everyone wants Lotus to go from strength to strength and I really hope this car does it for them!

Damn de damn damn. Really fancied a nuclear electric Evora
Don't know if anyone else has said this so sorry if they have but the Evora has 2 problems 1 is it's to expensive for what it is but more importantly it's lacking grunt. I thought this would be the car to get me back in a Lotus but I think not. Think I will hang on for the Esprit, but then again using this as a yard stick it will be around the 100k mark.
you can always go faster for quicker, and cheaper...the Evora is bang on the performance and price of the benchmark Cayman S, and theyve achieved the aim of meeting that benchmark according to the reviews so far.....
I think the new Esprit will be more like £120-140K and compete with Lamborghini and Ferrari ...where it should be if it wants to be a "supercar" these days

More focused and powerful versions are in the pipeline. I'd put aside about £70k given current pricing.Re lacking grunt: to me a Lotus has never been neccessarily about straight line speed. Its more about the purity of the driving experience. I currently run a very raw (but not particularly fast) S1 Elise that is a tremendously rewarding drive. Eventually I know I'll be too old to keep getting in and out of the thing and up till now an XK or 911 had been on my radar as a sporting GT. The reviews I've read of the Evora seem to put it into that camp but with the added bonus of being a very rewarding drive.
2,000 units a year Globally is Lotus sales target: I think the buyers are there and the car will be another success for Lotus. If it is then we can look forward to the Esprit.
