Agree with that, LL, would just hope it doesn't mean Grealish is on his way. The pair of them together could be frightening, Buendia is a hell of a talent.
I've said for a while I think Grealish is off to Man City this summer, but only guessing. If you manage to keep both of them you'll be fighting for the European spots.
There is absolutely no chance that Grealish is leaving Villa this summer. None. Despite the constant drip feed of articles about him going to Man U or Man City and apparently always having been a fan of both (and the amounts quoted, no chance). At one point he was nailed on for a move to Arsenal IIRC. It is laughable really.
Grealish is a Villa boy through and through (has been at the club since the age of 8) and we have very wealthy and ambitious owners now. We are no longer the basket case club that we were a couple of seasons ago when he was going to leave as the club were broke and needed to sell him to stay afloat. He also has over 3 years to run on his contract.
The next target for our owners is European football qualification and the expectation from the board is that it should come this (coming) season. There are very savvy and experienced people in charge now, who are doing the business in selling the plan to people, and putting things in place to achieve it. It is an exciting time for Villa fans.
Buendía is the next piece in the puzzle for Villa and is an absolutely excellent signing. He is not a replacement for Jack. I would expect a couple more big names to come through the door this summer as well.
Jack, Ollie and Emi up front will be terrorising defences!
If we don't achieve Euro football qualification this coming season, maybe Jack would consider leaving, but certainly not this summer.

Sshhhh. We're getting away with a lot right now because no-one has noticed. Jack won't leave, he's Villa through and through. Maybe when he's 27 if we've got nowhere - which looks unlikely right now. I think as last season, we'll see all the transfers done early and there'll be a few significant ones. The reason Buendia picked Villa over Arsenal is because he's heard the plans and wants to be part of it.

Think we will cause a few people to sit up and take notice next season.
Whilst I'm very hopeful that Jack stays with us for a good while, and appreciate our new owners have deep pockets, Jack is a homegrown talent costing nothing in transfer fees, the numbers being touted around for him are £100 million.
That's a good bit of business, which they might well be interested in.

Not too shabby a result on Saturday eh, Villains?
Last time we beat Man U in the League was 2009, (0-1, Agbonlahor), but the time before that was 19th August 1995, a 3-1 win at Villa Park, goals from Ian Taylor, Mark Draper and Dwight Yorke. They got an 82nd minute consolation goal from some kid called David Beckham, I wonder whatever happened to him?
Joking apart, losing to Man U has become a given every season. Nice to get one back in our favour, especially given the positive performance but ultimately poor result against Chelsea. We played some fantastic football on Saturday, I've got a positive feeling for the season.

Only caught the highlights on Saturday but villa looked so lively. Was great to see and a superb result. Bit slow out the blocks but looking decent right now.

Brilliant result, the last time we beat them there in 2009, I was watching it in a Manchester city center pub and at the end when they lost it kicked off between the Manc fans and the pub security, a big brawl that was amusing. Felt we were the better team... Hope we can do Spurs on sunday too. What a difference a month makes!
Four back to back losses in a month since we beat Man U. If we lose away at Southampton on Friday surely the owners will be seriously considering Smith's future?
I really like Dean Smith, he's one of us, but there's a lot of talk amongst fans over on Twitter as to him having 'lost the dressing room'.
Other cliches are of course available.
I get the feeling that the owners aren't as massively impatient as Daniel Levy at Spurs, having sacked Nuno this morning, but they also didn't expect to be spending the Grealish money to get in a relegation dogfight. Three points off the drop zone with a hugely tough December fixture list to get through.
There's been a fair bit of backroom upheaval in recent weeks at Bodymoor Heath, and I'm already totally bored of Sky focussing on our 'Specialist Set Pieces Coach', when yesterday we mostly struggled to beat the first man at corners. Sigh.

We had Bailey attempting long throws in the first half, failing to beat the first man. I was sat in the Trinity Stand behind him wondering why we were bothering with that. The Twitter nobs can’t be listened to. They all wanted the 4-3-3, that’s been touted constantly in recent weeks and this was the result with it. The early red card ruined it for us to be honest, but it felt like a lack of pressing was the problem in the first half.
Nakamba was excellent I thought, I can see a three of McGinn, Nak and Luiz working. More solid base through the middle. I felt that Bailey was poor, Buendia had moments but failed to get between the lines too often.
If anyone expects these players to be anything more than mid table at best, then they’re not realistic.
Southampton away feels like it could be Smith’s final game. And it wouldn’t be too surprising if it is given the results since Grealish got injured.

Sadly it looks that way. I think the back room upheaval (and holding my nose) losing Terry has had a massive impact. I hope tonight turns a corner but I don’t expect it, and I think Smith will be gone. I posted now, to avoid being Captain Hindsight. Shame.
