Think I also uttered "well fk me" watching that.
Never saw it coming when we went a goal down, and made me regret my initial tactics criticism
To be fair, after 20 minutes we looked pretty useless, but normally we try to match Man City and Liverpool man for man and we just aren't as good so end up losing. Never saw it coming when we went a goal down, and made me regret my initial tactics criticism
Interesting comments from Rodgers after the game as well, he mentioned it's taken him 13 years but he's finally realised sometimes you have to play something other than positive football in order to win some games, that's key for me, I've always been critical of him and his tactics in big games, so hopefully we can keep it up.
Another couple of signings before the WHU game (one has to be a CB) and we're looking very good!

Didn't hear his post match interview so that is interesting to hear and bodes well. I thought we were in for an absolute mauling after the first 20-30 mins but the players seemed to grow in confidence that firstly they could stop Man City creating and secondly could create themselves. But even with that growing confidence they stuck rigidly to their game plan, which Rodgers must have been pleased with. Player wise, Castagne looks like another great signing, am I right in thinking he can play both left and right? And was impressed with Mendy, I was never his biggest fan (although I know injury and regular game time didn't help) but he's starting to look like the player I anticipated him to be. Agree with the definite need for a CB, hopefully the Evans injury isn't a serious one.
Anyone booked up for any of them? Was going to do Athens but I've bottled it, will revisit in a couple of weeks time when it's a little closer and we'll know more about quarantine. Bit st how you're only allowed groups of 4 in the pubs over there too, not sure if it's worth the hassle.
A load have booked up for Athens and Ukraine though, will be a flight full of lads going over for both.

Great win with a barebones squad, shame that Castagne is out for 3 weeks now. Thankfully him and Ricardo will both be available after the next internationals (Ricardo only as a sub for a few weeks I'd imagine). I'd take a point against Leeds, and if we beat Braga next week we should have sewn up qualifying from the group.
Pictures of plenty of Leicester lads over in Athens, fair play to them

Thought we defended well tonight when you think of the players we have out atm. I think the scoreline reflected the 1st half, there was so much space through the middle, but not the second half. We really struggled to get out of our own half for large periods, some very loose passes and inability to hold onto the ball under better pressing from Leeds. But we defended well under the pressure and made the most of the chances when they came.

I thought 4-1 was perhaps a bit harsh on us but over the 90 minutes you were definitely the better team and certainly deserved the 3 points tonight.JNW1 said:

I agree, 4-1 was harsh on you. That's what I meant when I said the scoreline reflected the 1st half but not the 2nd. In the first 30 minutes it looked very one-sided, after that you came back into it and the second half was a very different game up until the last 10-15 mins (when Maddison came on). First time I've watched Leeds this season though and can see why you've started well Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
