You couldn't have written a better script for it, really.

A good win on Friday (first at QPR for sixty-odd years) and then both the Toon & Terriers dropping points.

It's getting so close now, you can almost taste it lick

I think we're there now!!!!!!

Newcastle making thinks tricky for themselves so should get the title too!!!

It's been a long journey.

I was gutted that you didn't get promoted last season, all the best for the PL! I'm a Sunderland fan so, alas, our teams won't be playing each other, but best of luck all the same beer

I have to echo this as well.

So pleased for Brighton & Chris Hughton.

Will be good to see how Knockeart back in the PL. Still wish we kept hold of him at Leicester.

What a weekend!

Good win at Wolves followed by the Wigan game, with Huddersfield dropping points (Who's choking now, Mr Wagner????)

After last season's heartbreak, this is so sweet.

Well, Brizzle City p1ssed on our chips yesterday, leaving the whole place pretty flat at the end of the game.

To be fair, City got their tactics right and outplayed us, pushing up when we had the ball. Apart from the first ten minutes, we played as badly as I've seen all season. Poor, square passes across the back and no invention moving forward.

Gonna have to do better than this next week if we still want to win the Championship.............

Was very disappointed felt the team didnt turn up and would of been great to celebrate being champions in front of packed stadium. Everytime we start off slowly we seem to struggle and expected some real passion and moving the ball quickly but just didn't happen. Cant complain though as promotion was our target and we do still have one more chance to do it so bring it on smilebeer

Promotion was the target, and they did it with games to spare. Can't complain, would have been nice to go up champions but not to be.

Now to show the PL pansies how to play the game biggrin

As pleased as I am that they got promotion, the edge has been taken off with not taking the title....how they managed to cock it up from that position is beyond me, but I wasn't exactly surprised as they have bottled it a bit historically. I wouldn't mind if they played the last three games well and lost it....may have been easier to take.

The team parade on Sunday will be interesting...I mean they did great to get promotion which should be celebrated but I wonder what the recption will be ( goid I hope)...but I'd have kicked their ar**s if I was Hughton after the Norwich game showing.

Well wonderful game last Saturday one of those occasions in life when you had to pinch yourself, 2/0 it could have 10-0 for all I cared.

First two games understandable, even though we were poor. Today against Watford with 10 men wasting countless chances is unforgivable. I like Houghton and don't get me wrong I want him to stay but we have to take three points in a game like this. This side needs a big shake up and some proven premiership talent in front of goal if they want to stay up....and grow some balls!

Give them a chance man. The team has been changed dramatically since the end of last season and they're still getting used to the new faces.

At least we were creating chances today, which is more than we can say for the first two games.

The bright spot was Izquierdo, who did seem to be able to hold off a challenge and run at goal.

Watford fan here. The US commentary pretty much summed you guys up - a bit too desperate for the win and not playing smart.

After the sending off, in most leagues the 11 man team would try and go for the jugular. Last year you'd have won this game, but we've become much smarter - and with some attacking flair in our forwards, Brighton couldn't afford to push too hard. Instead of lots of patient build up, you were snatching at half chances.

You'll not find a single Watford fan defending Britos for his challenge, even though we all hate Knockaert (see play off semis v Leicester). Most would like to see him shipped out in the remainder of the transfer window (he has 2 reds last season too).

Well done on your first point though - hope to see you stay up thumbup

Like I said first two games understandable, but any club in their first season back in the top flight needs to take every opportunity to survive and quickly....maybe harsh very early in the season but true enough when relegation or promotion come down to a point or even goal difference as Brighton have experienced previously.

I believe Hughton said in his post match interview that he needed to invest and strengthen his forward line up but there have been some positive signings and as you say positive signs at least even if the result didn't quite happen.

Fingers crossed.

I think you got it spot on and at least we are off the mark, a goal would be nice though smile
