Anybody else on here like watching a bit of Spanish football? Still lots of it on Sky

Barcelona are looking very very good again this season even though the team look like they are still trying to adjust to the new 3-4-3 formation Pep has been putting in. Cesc is the first midfielder in Barcelona history to score 4 goals in his first 4 matches and he is teaming up with Messi nicely. Tough life for him now isn't it? After 5 years without any trophies how many do you think he will win in 1 year at Barca? I think the Barca fans will grow to regard him as highly as Messi

Shouldn't rule out Madrid because Mourinho has built a cracking team over the last few transfer windows. The super cup match a few weeks ago shows they are pretty evenly matched

You can try all you like to make it sound interesting but I think we all know what'll happen.

Barca will win the league (yawn) but will not win the Champions' League. Something's not quite right this time round.

You heard it here first.

Nothing boring about watching Barca win the league again if they keep playing the same football every week.

I live in Barca and the game is different in Spain as the top 2 are so much better than the others, it's not as much fun. You do get the odd upset, but there is a different feel to the game and it's more skillful and less franetic.

Going to Camp Nou is still a great feeling though, but it's not like an English atmosphere.

It's good to watch when Barca or Madrid are not thrashing someone, but it's a 2 team league.

I don't understand people who slate and speak negatively about La Liga.
There's some beautiful football played that the premier league doesn't offer at times.
The skill and absolute sheer class of Barcelona, quality of Real and there are other teams which ok, aren't going to challenge for the title but as we've seen already can draw with Barca/Real.
Who doesn't want to see Messi tear apart a defence? Or Xavi/Iniesta put a ball through the smallest of gaps?
I'll try and watch most spanish games if i'm in the house. Absolute class.
I think Barca will take the title this season and also the champions league. They're even stronger now with Fabregas.
I don't think Mourinho will be at Real at the end of the season.

Watching Barca is NOT boring at all and whilst they're not perfect, they are certainly the team I think others should aspire to be like.

This.

It will be interesting to see how Malaga get on this year as well with the influx of money they have had.

Messi, at 24, is now the second highest goal scorer in Barcelonas history.

That is some statistic

It's not like he is just an out and out striker neither. He takes on 4 players an then puts the ball in the back of the net lol

hehe

If he was put in central defence he would still run through the pitch and put the most away no doubt

Having tracked Messi's progress for a number of years since he was in Barca's youth, it remains an honour to see him play the way he does every week.

An extraordinary talent clap

Ten points adrift of Real aren't they?

Just started watching the Barca v Leverkusen match, should be a good'un.

Anyone else noticed Roberto Martinez getting a slight Wigan twang? hehe

Why have Barcelona imploded so badly this season? Granted Maureen has done a good job at Real but cannot believe how far ahead they are in the league.

Because Barcelona have been pathetic away, they haven't always been the team away as they are at home tho.
Iniesta was injured for a bit aswell and so was Puyol, not that he's one of the big names attacking wise.
Messi tonight. Great goal for the 2nd. Imagine him and Ronaldo in the same team.

Returning to the genius that is Messi.

Is he going to see out his playing career at FC Barca, or can you see him plying his trade (at or close to his brilliant best) at other club(s)?

If so, where and when?

Barca send me to sleep most of the time rather than excite me. I appreciate how good they are of course, the best team by a country mile. But because of that they're boring... the games against them are rarely competitive. Tonight's game as an example.

Poo heads.

Unfortunately for the rest of us Messi is young and the Barca team coming through look just as good. hehe

I doubt he will ever ever leave Barca. They've helped him with a growth condition I believe, he will be with them forever I expect. yes

Only PSG, City or Chelsea could afford him.

He may end up where Pep ends up if he is going anywhere.

I think his loyalty is deeply routed to bara beyond the current boss though. they flew him over from argentina when he was young and paid for him to have medical treatment he needed. only reason I can see him leaving would be for a new challenge and league - the guy does not give a fk about money
