If Podolski is to be (reportedly) on £100k a week, then surely RVP will/should be offered £150k at the least?

I don't think the Goons will have to worry about RVP's wages next season.

I think that is just the press stirring things up. If you look at the quote:

Mancini said:
"I think all the good teams are interested in him. At this moment Van Persie is one of the best strikers in Europe with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Aguero and Mario Balotelli.

"If there is a good player who wants to leave a club, then we are interested.

"I think he is a fantastic striker but I think he will remain with Arsenal."
He thinks RVP will be staying. This is a good sign biggrin

Journo to Mancini: Would you be interest in RVP if he became available?
Mancini: For sure who wouldn't?
Journo headline: MANCINI WANTS RVP

Oh indeed. However it's just a gentle reminder to RVP that 200k a week lies but a short hop up the M6.

i don't understand all of this talk about money. the kind of wages top footballers enjoy must mean that they don't even need to think about money. I honestly believe that if I was a footballer on a few million a year I would choose where to play my football based on more important factors. yeah yeah we have been through a bad patch this season and have not been having much luck with trophies but that is looking like turning around and hopefully we will be shopping in the summer.

A few pages back you might notice a picture of RVP as a kid in an Arsenal shirt. he is a proper Arsenal fan, as he has said many times. It would take us not to finish in the top 4 for him to even consider leaving in my opinion. wenger will do anything possible to keep him.

On the point about us signing Neymar..

Can you imagine I think we would be the prefect place for him to develop more as a player.

Next season could be something like:

---Wilshere - Song

The OX--Neymar--Podolski

------- --RVP

That would be a proper midfield and attack.

Given how cheap we got Podolski for there is plenty in the bank for this summer.. he could splash out. smile

Not likely

Possible however given the size of our bank account at the moment.

The point Mancini does make is that IF he did leave he would't be cheap....every major club in the world would want him.

Back to planet Earth Booey. biggrin Neymar is almost certainly Madrid, Barca, Chelski or City bound IMO. he's already on ridiculous amounts at Santos.

I've not even got started yet. You need 11 players on the pitch, some defenders and a goalkeeper would help in your line up...

Let's see - Robin's dilema.

You can stay where you are and teach a bunch of teenagers how to play football

v

You can come an play with some of the best players in the world and compete to win trophies.

(Oh and we'll double your pay so you get another £5 million a year).

Let me think.

I love Arsenal - See you later ...

I think as long as we get Champions League football next season he'll stay but if we don't he's off.
