Celtic were anything but mediocre last year and looking at the signing strategy it bodes well for the future.
In Scotland? Outstandingly the best. Embarassingly far ahead of any other team.In Europe? Last in the group without a single win? Mediocre is being kind.
Sorry mate, Europe's already the test of the quality of Celtic now, not punishing low graders week in week out. In fact, as I said, that's probably holding them back. So like it or not, a strong(er) Rangers might be a great help.

Well unless Celtic stumble they should do the same this year. And unless some other team gets competitive (of which there's no sign) there's no reason why Celtic don't win the treble every year. It's entirely in Celtic's hands. And how long do they have to be completely dominant until it's not a remarkable achievement any more and just a very realistic expectation? AND pretty boring.
Okay they WILL lose the odd game because of ill fortune or just a bad day at the office. But what I'm saying is competitive sport's a lot more fun when there's competition. And right now with their traditional rivals a burst balloon, a good chunk of the fun's gone too.
The Old Firm games are brilliant. And you know very well they're really the only games that justify the cost of the book. But when the skill gulf is so wide then it's not the same anymore.
MAYBE the Niederkorn joke is Rangers version of Red Imps. And MAYBE that disgrace + the arrival of Alves and Dorrans and the gelling of Jack, Kranczar, Rossiter and anyone who's any good from the New Unknowns might just galvanise Rangers into being something resembling some opposition for Celtic. But that's MAYBE. And as a well known Celt from yesteryear famously said, 'mebbes aye and mebbes naw'. And if its 'mebbes naw' then it's another ste year of mediocrity coming up.
The big difference between the Celtic v Red Imps and Rangers results was Celtic won the tie. The 1-0 win was just an utter fluke. That wasn't the case with Rangers as Niederkorn played a good part in both games and had numerous chances. The two results aren't comparable. Winning a treble any year is hard. It's hardly like if was achieved on a regular basis at any time.
When Rangers were winning 9 in a row there wasn't such a protest over it being a one team league. Nobody called those titles tainted as they won them because Celtic were in a financial mess. Rangers had Motherwell and Hibs as their nearest rivals some years. That's how easy their 9 in a row was.
Aberdeen will still be the nearest team to Celtic next year. They've lost a few players, but they've added a few too.
Aberdeen fans were unhappy to lose Hayes. He'll be a sub at Celtic. They weren't bothered about Jack as he was an empty shirt many weeks. I'm not sure how anyone can be confident he will be a success at Rangers.

Look at the group. Man City were on fire before they came up against Celtic too. In Europe? Last in the group without a single win? Mediocre is being kind.

For Celtic to progress to the last 16 they do need a favourable draw. Look at the draw Leicester got last season. There would be no issue qualifying from that group.
The seeding system instantly puts Celtic at a huge disadvantage.

I have absolutely no idea why any Celtic supporter would be chanting such a thing..... anyone know the reason?

Not that I'm excusing it, but vile things are said and done every weekend at football grounds. The press have given this a lot of attention.
Hopefully the people are found and dealt with.

Good result yesterday.
Tough first 40 minutes, steam rolled Hearts thereafter, then took the foot off the gas for the last 15.
Job done
Celtic did look at least one league above Hearts. I can't see anyone putting in a serious challenge for the league title but is a second 'invincible' season and domestic treble even a remote possibility?Tough first 40 minutes, steam rolled Hearts thereafter, then took the foot off the gas for the last 15.
