Would you be interested in a manager who has won his side's Premier League this season; is one of the most passionate men about and could bring one of the top scorers in Europe with him?

Speaks English, would get the players fired up and might deserve a stab at a "bigger" club that has links with his own?

Would you?

Eh?
Nope.

Has to be Rafa, surely? scratchchin
What is it they say about "never go back" ?

LFC just did that with KD & that went well then! Might be there are some fond memories of RAFA & Istanbul etc - but honestly, he's a bit of a mentalist & he screwed up so badly at Inter. I will be astonished if FSG are (frankly) stupid enough to employ him.

They were stupid enough to pay 35m for Carroll

Hiddink is currently getting megabucks in Russia, so that definitely isn't happening!

I do think we have a chance with signing a top class manager. Clearly FSG are trying to set something up for a long term (at least that's what they've done with the Red Sox), and we are a "big club" still, despite being mid-table. If one of those top managers wants to build a legacy with a club that has a worldwide fan base, and does have the money to sign the better (read: not quite world class) players, then they could do worse than to sign for LFC.

I think FSG will go with Martinez, either appoint Segura or that Barca bloke as DoF, and potentially Dein as Chief.

I thought Neil Lennon might be a good outside bet.

For once I agree with Stan Collymore...

@StanCollymore: If FSG are serious
Guardiola
Capello
Hiddink

Should be the calibre they are looking for.Martinez/Rodgers/Lambert

Absoulutely not for #lfc
Stan has a point. FSG have gone down in my estimation with this move, and have demonstrated they want instant success. This philosophy points to them trying to get an established manager rather than a 'prospect'.

To be honest, I don't know enough about him, but your post read like it was a trap so I decided I wasn't going to fall for it. smile

Maybe my LFC-tinted spectacles but I hope the combination of our ability to offer a big salary, a decent transfer budget, the bones of a good squad and a seriously low bar will appeal to some.

Would love hiddink or Maureen but can't see either happening. Maureen needs the funds and promise to be number 1, not number 3 or 4 which would be a dream result for next season.

It might be better not to have one of the big name 'ego' managers. Maybe a back to basics manager would be good for the side.

Absolutley gutted, but not suprised, the final straw was yet another broken promise from KK he told the yanks he would get some money in this summer from hiring out Carrol and Downing to Blackpool council for rides on the beach!!

Maureen's not going to Anfield. He's got unfinished business in Spain for a start.

He's got a 69% win ratio to protect, which I think he'd be nervous of maintaining at Liverpool. I saw an amazing stat about him this evening- he went 150 home league games between 2002 and 2011 without losing. He's the most proven top level manager out there by a country mile.

Looking forward to him at Utd. wink

Maureen, to Liverpool?? LOL!!!

People understand this: LFC can not attract a renowned, world class manager at this stage. Excluding Rafa, I can't think of one top manager who'd want to be in charge of us right now.

Actually I think you are quite an attractive prospect AVB and Capello are out of work I'm sure there are others, you have the bones of a good team and could easily improve with some smart investment, regardless of the rights or wrongs of the whole Suarez affair it must have been a nightmare for the club and you had a striker suffering under the weight of an inflated price tag

A lot of managers would do well to have a worse season and if Carroll has a good Euros, Suarez refrains from getting toothy with anyone things could look a lot rosier next season

Get it right and they can become an Anfield hero

My moneys on Martinez though wink

I don't think these Americans understand the rivalry's in English football, I hear they've been asking the England coach if he would consider club football after the euros(Gary Neville not Roy hodgson)biggrin
Other available managers are:
Mark Hughes
Steve Bruce
Roy Keane
Paul ince
Steve Coppell
Lou macari
And Darren Fergusonbiggrin
