Bit quiet in here?

Any thoughts about tomorrow? I thinks it's very even, it's just a matter of who turns up on the day....
Palace have probably been showing better form than us over recent weeks but we seem to be able to turn it on in the cup. It's going to be tight, that's for sure!

We have nothing to fear from Palace except their diving.

I'm behind the goal - looking forward to it biggrin

Given the number of pens Watford have given away recently...

Let's face it, Palace turned up with a good game plan and really disrupted us. Hats off, they weren't great, but narrowly deserved the win. 2 shocking pieces of defending for their goals and another poor team choice from QSF cost us.

My overriding memory?

Dreadful half.

Looked like we were going to win 0-3 or 0-4 when we scored. Then we fell apart.

Nevermind, Sunderland winning 2-0 rofl

QSF out!

The Watford merry go around continues. At least we're guaranteed the new TV deal money and parachute payments..

The revolving door continues, it's going to be interesting seeing who they can get in next.

A dip in form recently sure, but 13th in the league and an FA Cup Semi Final can't be sniffed at. Seems like a bad move imo.

Agreed. We need to have a long term view not go down the hire and fire route.

Can't agree - the benefit of being in the Prem is being able to watch every match. We've been awful and QSF didn't change anything in an effort to improve matters.

Once Plan A was no use, around Xmas, there was no Plan B, C or anything else. Thanks for keeping us up, but time for a change. If we stuck with Plan A next year, we'd be in deep doodoo.

Continuing to play Jurado and Abdi on the wings - wtf?! confused

Appreciate your form tailed-off a bit towards the end but, be honest, wouldn't you have settled for 4th from bottom before the season started? Staying in the Premier League and then having the opportunity to consolidate must surely have been Watford's priority so to achieve that with a mid-table finish - and without ever flirting with the relegation scrap at the bottom - doesn't sound like a bad achievement to me. Bet Newcastle, Norwich or Aston Villa would have been happy with such a "poor" season! I would say we (Leeds) would be happy to take Sanchez Flores off your hands but frankly no self respecting manager worth his salt will come anywhere near Elland Road so long as the mad Italian remains the owner....

How the hell anyone can think that bloke has done less than an amazing job is beyond me.

Start of season relegation odds were 4/6 and you're currently sitting 13th.

Makes me wonder what fans and owners expect these days.

I understand how fans of other teams can struggle to understand what has happened. Have a read of this article which sums it up well:

Would I have settled for 17th at the start of the season? Sure.

Would you settle for unconvincingly escaping relegation when you go in to the Christmas period 1 point from the Champions League places?

Unconvincing? You're 10 points clear of the relegation zone and could finish in 11th place despite starting the season having been odds on favourite to be relegated.

Sorry but it seems like total ingratitude on the part of the owners and I struggle how any fan could be anything but delighted with the season.

beer good luck today and here is to a decent end to the season - hopefully with a win for my team of course, but the pressure is off now and Allardyce has the kids out.

Should be an interesting game - to the boozer I go!

QSF has totally failed to attempt to halt the slide in form. He has persisted, week-in, week-out in the same formation and same players out of position. The player he shows most loyalty to, Jurado, continues to be picked and played out of position despite the fact that as our main attacking mid-fielder he has scored none and has no assists.

The FA cup performance against Palace and the capitulation to a Norwich side firing blanks were the final nails in his coffin.

This isn't the same old Watford. We have rich backers who have pumped one of the highest PL spending sprees in to the club this season. The plan at the start of the season was to survive, but once we over-achieved that and then teams worked us out, he was totally inflexible. Next season would have been a disaster if it had continued next season.

He wasn't sacked, he insisted on a break clause in his contract after one year - the club used his own clause against him.

Watford turned down a 37.5m bid for Ighalo from Shanghai SIPG. Crazy money.

And we've signed Isaac Success from Granada for £12.5m (record fee).

Gabrielle Angela has returned to Udinese, after last season's loan at QPhaha
