So we get rid of our manager .... who then turns up as the new boss at Notts County.

And we then offer our job to the last Notts County manager, Kevin Nolan (from 80+ serious applications)

Who then turns us down!

What a shambles.

Tyre - I hope so. We were saying a week ago that Macclesfield looked doomed but now they've won two in four days!!

Jim - didn't want to give the impression we thought Vale would be an easy touch, they were great last night. Pope played as a good old fashioned centre forward and did a fantastic job, Montano was excellent and Oyuleke was superb. Defence won pretty much everything in the air, we were shocking but if you had your shooting boots on, seven or eight would have been a fair reflection.
Oyuleke is indeed a player. Expect him to leave in January then.

Pope is a real local hero. Vale through and through, and we’d be completely lost without him.

Top of L2 still confusing,Colchester have a draw and gain one place.
It's still bizarre how Newport can be so high up with a negative goal difference.
It is and it isn't.

We're generally playing some pretty decent football and have a good deal of confidence in our ability to grab a goal when we need one, we were fantastic in the first half against Northampton on Tuesday.

The result of this is turning narrow defeats in to draws and draws in to narrow wins. Couple that with complete copitulation in the few games we've lost (conceding 6 at home to Yeovil!!) and our goal difference and league position makes sense.

I still fully expect the wheels to come off well before the end of the season because, we don't have the finances for the squad depth necessary to sustain the results that are giving the team confidence, over a full season. I'm enjoying it while it lasts though, it's a lot better than another relegation scrap!

That one game also signals why we are 19th in the table with a +1 goal difference. Looking more like a freak result all the time.

I think it was something of a clash of styles, your players bullied ours and after the second goal went in the contest was over. From that point on your midfielders were running at our defence with the ball at every opportunity, creating chance after chance, that comes from confidence.

This was mentioned on the EFL highlights on Quest last night ,presenter speculated that it was to get some leverage

into another job ,club not mentioned.

Looks like we're back down to League 2 frown

7 points off safety, no games in hand. We need a major clear-out in Jan and basically a new team bringing in; a team who actually want to play for us and win.

With very little time available the only team talked about on the EFL highlights on Saturday night was Colchester.

The only team to have beaten Lincoln and MK in L2 away matches ,yet took a right spanking at Carlisle the previous week

by 4-0.

If the 3 above teams can remain consistent and run away from the play off places ,that would do for me.

Waiting for the wheels to fall off at Colchester though.

Another defeat today. That's one win in the last seventeen games now, shocking form. Looking at the form table for the last 15 games, we are miles behind everyone else in the league.

After the comments made by the manager to a supporters meeting a fortnight ago, but only published on Christmas Eve, the manager should be booted out for the sheer disrespect towards the club's supporters. Any other manager that made such comments would be bombed out on their ass straight away but we seem to reward failure and so he'll probably get another contract extension. You know, like the one he got shortly after we suffered our worst ever FA Cup defeat to Stockport County last month.

The club is rotten to the core and if he keep this dimwit in charge much longer, we will go down. For 108 years, we fought to get out of non league football and after reaching the Championship as recently as 2013, we will be Conference bound just six years later.

It's a fking shambles.

It's not good, is it? Still, I've watched us go up and down the league for the best part of 38 years. We've been at what id regard as rock bottom and I'll no doubt see it again.

Sounds incredibly frustrating, but I’m not going to complain at getting 3 points from our Somerset neighbours.

No worries. Have always had a soft spot for Exeter since I went to watch them several times when they won the old Division 4 title in 89-90.

Great club, seem to be pretty well run and ambitious. Good luck to them.

Mind you, 6 points from our last 2 games bounce

And now we're finally off the bottom of the table.

Lost 4-1 at home to Cheltenham today.

My club is absolutely rotten to the core. A clueless tt of a manager who would be out of his depth in an empty bath and Statler & Waldorf in the boardroom fiddling while the club burns.

Hope they are proud that they have made one of the best little clubs in the country a truly laughing stock.

I see your pain and raise you ...

Five wins on the bounce in Lge 2 since the start of December, including a 6 - 0 hammering of Oldham, moving from 13th to 7th with a shot at automatic promotion, then your manager decides to resign to go to manage Chesterfield who are 21st in the National League.

John Sheridan, WTF?
