After the disappointment of letting 2 goals in after the 90th minute a couple of weeks ago ,the worst team in Essex turned the tables today .

Playing the top team in League 2 ,Orient are 2 ahead and cruising to 3 points ,it's the 89th minute and Colchester score , 3 minutes later deep into added time and Col U score again and watching the EFL highlights for a change ,both sides have another chance each to win it before the final whistle goes .

1 point could make all the difference in May. Not out of the woods yet !

Depends on your viewpoint; but pick from any/most/all of the following:

Incompetent transfer management
Incompetent club management
Incompetent team management
Focusing on stadium, not on team
Players who can't be bothered to play
'Fan Owned' coming at a cost

I’m rather pleased we’re fan owned, it certainly hasn’t affected us adversely.

Only because cup runs and an excellent academy set up has kept you floating. Without one/either you'd be solid bottom half of L2 at best or Conference.

I didn't say I agreed with all the points I made above.

I do totally agree that I'm glad we're fan owned. But it has come at a cost, in terms of having a sugar daddy owner with deep pockets to finance a team (players and management) to move us the ladder.

Loads of pros and cons I know. At the other extreme, we could end up with a "not in the wider interests of football" scenario; although realistically that would never happen again ..... Well, you'd assume!!!!

Lucky? Our academy has been churning out big money signings and first team regulars for 20 years now - when we went into administration the Trust was adamant that our youth set up would not suffer, and it was also a Trust mandate that all transfer fees received would be split three ways: youth development, first team squad and infrastructure.

It’s not down to luck that our academy is thriving, it’s down to good long term planning and sensible investment. In the last two or three seasons we’ve reaped those rewards handsomely with the remaining two sides of the ground being redeveloped, the training ground getting a multi million pound upgrade and the first team regularly featuring six or seven academy graduates in the starting line up, plus a couple more on the bench.

Scoff if you like, but our business model works for us. Putting it all down to luck, well, that’s just plain wrong.

You misunderstood.

You are lucky in that you have a good academy set up. As in, someone somewhere had the foresight to set up such a great set up. Not lucky as in it's been successful. It isn't luck that it's been successful. Nobody is scoffing. Lose the chip lad.

Wimbledon have no such back up. That is the point I was making.
