is there a link between the minister in Pakistan annoucing a $100K bounty on the racist film maker and terry retiring from international football? hmmm *L*

great player shame about the person.

though i've never understood of not taking the chance to represent your country for as long as your wanted by them.

At least he can stay home and shag the wives of the Brasil 2014 World Cup squad.

I can see the WAG ban being lifted at the squads request.

Looks like he's playing the Shearer defence "I'm going to quit international football if you charge me for booting Neil Lennon in the head". Guess the FA called his bluff.

Not sure I see what the problem is here. I've sacked people on the back of a disciplinary for the same offence even though they were found not guilty in a criminal trial.

As a player he's still an asset. As a man he's an arrogant prick and quite honestly an appalling role model.

I won't miss seeing him in an England Shirt. Likewise the same goes for Ashley Cole.

I'd rather we won nothing but had players who I respected rather than watch players I hate as characters.

We don't win anything anyway!

Knew this would go down well on here.

IMO, he's still one of the top 4 English centre backs.
I agree but playing for England should mean a tad more than that.

That's just his point, he isn't wanted by them. The comments on here show that the footballing public don't want him. And the FA have wanted him out since the Peronncel issue, which, just to clear up a common misunderstanding, was not another players wife, but another players ex girlfriend.

Personally, I would be quite upset if my wife slept with John Terry. But if one of my ex girlfriends slept with him, good luck to her. Couldn't care less.

Bobby Moore had an affair with another woman whilst married to his first wife, and he was accused of a criminal offence for which he was judged to be not guilty. Brian Robson was a borderline alcky who was done for drink driving twice. And these guys are regarded as great captains of England.

Gerrard and Rio have all had their personal issues with criminal trials, other women etc.

I think if we are looking for angels to captain England, were going to struggle to fill the role!

The point about Perroncel is John Terry is a married man who had an affair whilst captain of England.

Pointing to Bobby Moore being stitched up in Mexico as a comparison is a totally ungracious way to cheer lead for your favourite dimlo borderline criminal from Barking. Neither is Robson's drinking. Besides, two wrongs don't make a right.

As far as I am concerned, Accepting the role that is the pinnacle of English football carries responsibilities & John Terry has consistently denigrated the role by his behaviour. I'm glad he's gone but it is entirely of his own doing.

Why do people think footballers should be angels? They aren't and never will be. If I had a career where I would be a millionaire before my 20th birthday and be surrounded by sycophants all my adult life then I'd have been dead before I was 25.

Most successful footballers are from the lower end of society as its their only way out of that life so they act like cocks.

Terry is one of many footballers who I would not want to know personally but that doesn't alter his undoubted ability as a player.

I know quite a few United players. Some I rate highly as players but will leave the room if they enter; others are great people and useless players, great players and great people or crap as a person and player.

He's just acted incorrectly and because he's finally met a body that will stand up to his arrogance he's spat his dummy.

I couldn't give a fk about the England team, or Terry and many of the other players. Let him do what he wants he's still a cock and is looking for the ridiculous public support to provide his defence. He doesn't have one IMO and is far more guilty than Suarez.

Just goes to prove its all about poor John Terry the victim doesn't it ?? Obviously talented, but obnoxious, self serving and over priviliged, the International squad will be far better off without him.

Personally, I'm glad he's finished with England. England are never going to win anything anyway, JT or no JT. But Chelsea might. And this should extend his club career.

Glad he wont ever be turning out in an England shirt again! I can't stand him, maybe I have always been looking to criticise but I can't see how he has always been selected. He just seems so slow and un-coordinated, always gets himself into a late tackle situation (as Glen would say) and lacks the agility to twist out of it. It's like watching a steam train plough through the pitch. Embarrassing.

But if he was what you considered a good mate and work colleague at the time, would you feel different?

Why should I? As it happens, one of my friends did go out with an ex girlfriend of mine. They then got married. And their both still friends of mine. Why should anyone care who their ex sleeps with?

Thing is if I had recently split up with a bird and my unmarried mate said, "Hey KS me and her always got on I have been giving her a bit of a shoulder to cry on and I think something may happen, how do you feel?"

Yeah mate crack on best of luck to you

If said mate is married with kids, says nothing to me day to day but skulks around there every opportunity and is slyly boning her, I would say he has no respect for me at all and is a bit of a prick

That's pretty much what happened is it not?

Was your mate married at the time? But you didn't really need me to point out that key difference.

Did you?

Edit: Must read KS more carefully.
