Blib, Lennon is poo that's why!
It's deep and meaningful insights such as that one which make your contributions to Pistonheads unmissable. How you manage to condense a player's whole career into one word often astounds me.I remember you summing up Pele's contribution to the game as "S'oright". And, who can forget your critique of Bobby Moore's positioning and reading of the game? "Slow".

Vertonghen was excellent y/day.
Thing is...when Kaboul is fit would we have Vertonghen/Kaboul...Or do we have Caulker/Kaboul and have Vertonghen as LB? He plays LB for Belgium.
Walker, Kaboul, Caulker & vertonghen is without doubt our future back four , benny, Gallas & Naughton will stay. Sadly i cannot see Dawson getting a sniff this season as it seems AVB wants pace at the back Thing is...when Kaboul is fit would we have Vertonghen/Kaboul...Or do we have Caulker/Kaboul and have Vertonghen as LB? It is a shame about Dawson. Maybe the time of solid, honest, no-nonsense centre backs has now passed? He'll do well at Stoke.
Good news perhaps: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19698921
However, the article does say...
Chairman Daniel Levy wants to return to a continental structure at the club....
Levy is eager to return to the kind of structure Spurs had until October 2008, when Damien Comolli was dismissed as director of football.

I went yesterday for my first home game in two seasons. Despite the weather, and the poor performance, I had a great day out, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. A few beers in the Bill Nich before the game (classy boozer, where they now have a dancer on the bar), and then for a few in Rudolphs after the game.
Probably had too many beers if I am honest, but I remember most of the game.
Bale does not like LB, he struggled if I am honest, fortunately we have a player as classy as Vertonghen, as when we made the switch it altered the whole game. He really is a top quality signing. Does not work with Dempsey on the left - but I thought Dempsey worked hard, and he will get goals. Personally I would give Sigurdsson a break, and be playing Dempsey in that role. Sigurdsson struggled - and does not look like he is on the pace at the moment.
I really like Sandro, but I think against the teams where we should take the game to the opposition, we would be better with Tom playing. Against your Uniteds, and Chelsea etc - Sandro is the better option - but the game was crying out yesterday for someone to pick a pass. The number of runs by Lennon, Bale, and Defoe that went unnoticed was criminal. Lennon was very good.
However the thing I took away was how good Caulker is. He really is a talent. Strong, quick, and aside from one misplaced header, he won everything in the air. His distribution is excellent (which I think we have Swansea to thank for). He will be an England regular within the next 2 years. Exceptional young player. Think I will be placing a bet on him being in England squad for Rio.
Looking forward to getting tickets for the next match I can make (probably Liverpool).

Hello all, I've viewed these forums for a while but never posted. Felt it was time to get involved!
Game was interesting yesterday, really highlighted a few things! Like how much work Bale does in the middle, I was disappointed AVB felt the need to cover BAE at left back rather than compromise and take the game to QPR. If he had of taken a more 'make do and mend' attitude, put someone in to cover the position and let Bale stay in the middle then first half would have been very different. It was also disappointing to see how very little of that fluid passing from the Lazio game made it into the QPR game, I bloody enjoyed seeing us play our way around the pitch and hunt down possession every time we lost it, just didn't seem to happen, maybe the boys were tired (hope not).
I agree with Fats25, what a player Caulker is going to be, I didn't expect that at all. Showed composure beyond his years, just requires the matches now to settle in and focus his head.
Luka who...? Never heard of him.

Parker? I don't see him being placed straight back in but AVB clearly has a place for him since I believe he was involved in the surgery decision. He would obviously be a replacement for Sandro, within our current setup I don't see any sense in replacing one of these players tasked with being creative. I think he makes a great captain and if he can win that holding position then he could be commanding. I believe he will continue to play till he physically can't anyone, unbelievable work ethic! Time will tell though if he can recover from the achilles problem, hopefully he can get back that tenacity after the surgery. If he can then I definitely see him back in the side. We could have done with him against QPR, no one else seemed that bothered to win the ball back.
