I think this situation has been handled well. Fredericks joined on a free, and has left on one. I think he informed the club some time ago that'd he leave after his contract, and that's fair enough - lad wants the best chance to earn in his career. We bought in his replacement in January, Cyrus Christie, who has had the chance to bed in at the club. I'm not even remotely disappointed at this situation, it's just the way things go and I applaud the club and the player for being open about it and planning accordingly.
That's refreshingly Adult, you Fulham fans really are a class above no wonder i enjoy going to the cottage so much.

I've always had a soft spot for Fulham for an unknown reason, for as long as I can remember. Lovely club. biggrin

Kind of you to say so. I went to the Final with a good mate (posts on here too) who supports Villa, we sat in opposite ends and I saw a message from him after the game about copping abuse for his team losing on his way home. I was horrified, but turns out it was a bunch of plastic Liverpool fans in a pub he walked past. Before they lost their final, obviously.

I hope we manage to keep our neutral end, I like watching games there with friends who support the day's opposition. Of course, not my Villa mate this season. wink

Me too, lovely proper old football ground and as demonstrated above the Fans are as nice as Pie, always play decent football to and have had some excellent players over the years.

I think they will be most peoples second team next year.

On the train home after watching the game today. Good reminder that possession doesn't equal goals. Pretty at times, naiive at others. I know their keeper got MOTM (on the beeb anyway) but we didn't really look a threat. Fair result.

Won't analyse individual performances too much as first game.

Yoinks! Not convinced. I thought Slav would turn it around.

Humm interesting one cottager chaps. Slav got the team playing well enough for promotion, indeed didn't you have some massive unbeaten run after January? I'm not sure what's gone wrong but I am concerned for Fulham that Ranieri is not the man to turn it round.

The silence has been deafening here as we observed the disappointing start, looking at the fixtures and wondering which clubs we would garner some points from.
Whether Tinkerman is the answer remains to be seen of course , there's little time for him to turn our fortunes around , the recovery has to start immediately.

Interesting time to be a supporter, last seasons euphoria to this seasons dismay .

I don't think we're that far behind. A small run would put us out of the bottom three and then I can see us pushing on from there. Couple of defenders required in January. If we go down, we go down. We'll be back, and the Championship is much more fun.

I'm sad to see Slav go, I would have liked to see him have the whole season. He deserved it, but there's no sentiment in football any more.

Christ on a bike! Tense end to the game and some players desperately looked for the self-destruct button, but what a relief.

Job jobbed , thus far .
Eight hours time difference for me so I only just discovered the latest. I'm off to Cebu for a weeks r&r , ( 30 minutes ferry , then a 4 hours drive in my L200 ) I'll be in a good frame of mind.

I read the stats , less possession than we're used to seeing but a good positive start from the new boss. I've not seen the reply yet , how did the defence perform , see the changes ?

Maybe a little, at least everyone seemed to be working harder. We still regularly defend like Keystone Cops.

I'm still positive and many of the team have only had a couple of days with the new regime due to internationals.

Wolves. Managing to be our bogey team even when we're not playing them. Grrrr.

Well, as a kid playing district inter school football ( I was right back in the school football team circa 1961/ 62 , we won the district shield , Stanley Park secondary school for girls and boys Carshalton Surrey, not oop north ) the first x1 were coached by Mr Carr. Ex NCO .

While your defending keep the ball away from the centre , play it wide . Simple rules really.

Yet we keep getting mugged central midfield .
Anyway, seems we are improving and I'll wager a thousand PHP we finish well placed.
Winner collects the bounty.

Pretty tough viewing of late. Ranieri's brand of football is horrendous, but if there's a miracle in there somewhere I'll take it.

A case of rebuilding in the championship now. Wagner maybe? Not that there's much hope when the son of a wealthy owner is making transfer decisions.
