Brace tonight and becomes the all time leading goal scorer in Europe

What a player.

I'd like to see the figures excluding headers - I suspect Greaves would still top that list by miles.
I imagine that playing for Real Madrid rather than Spurs also helps - a lot hehe

Messi will go past any record easily though - look at his golas to games ratio!

Ronaldo was a great buy from their feeder club just like de Gea will be no doubt.

Great clip of Ronaldo doing the rounds , showing much respect for Sir Alex last night, still calls him Boss

He has to go down as the greatest of all time , Scary thing is i reckon he's good for another couple of years at least .

He's not happy.

Manchester United are watching the Cristiano Ronaldo show with renewed interest after the Real Madrid striker made it plain he is “outraged” at what he feels is unfair treatment by tax authorities and is now determined to leave Spain.

The 32-year-old feels he is being singled out for disproportionate treatment after prosecutors accused him of defrauding the authorities of €14.7m. A source close to the player claims the “outraged” Portugal international “feels great indignation” following the public speculation about his tax affairs and a sense of “injustice” at the allegations – which he contests – and he has made a decision to leave the country.

Posturing for a new contract to cover the tax bill IMO.

Would love him back over here though, the hype alone would be magnificent.

How long has he been in Spain? As someone sent to work in the country for 5 years he can pay the low rate of tax at about 24.75%ut after that it will go to the higher rate of about 47 ish %. I know he will have companies to help with this sort of things but it's another consideration for him.

Goal machine. His stats are simply astonishing. Wasn't Rooney once a better player than Ronaldo early on in their careers?

When they were both at United in the early stages of their careers many said they would vie for the worlds best player title, as time went on Ronaldo improved more than Rooney.

Rooney has become a great player but Ronaldo is at another level.

You could put forward an argument to say up until age 20/21 Rooney was a more well rounded player. After that Ronaldo had honed his technical ability and reading of the game to become a real constant threat rather than a sporadic winger with skill and a goal in him. And he has continued to improve, which is remarkable.

Rooney fell off his young level a few years ago and whether that's down to his body or his own lack of effort, only he knows.
