Nice to see a referee not give a fk about making a strong decision or 2
Not that it looks like helping us much.

First 25 mins were great, but then we returned to sideways and occasionally backwards. Come on. You're against ten men. What more do they want, a handwritten invitation to go forward?!

That was depressing to be honest. How can a French international player be so bad and make such a rookie mistake? Not even sure you can blame Wenger for that.

Oh for the days of "singing 1-0 to the Arsenal" on the North Bank knowing most likely that we'd win the game. Now we concede goals against 10 men that a sunday pub team would be embarrassed to concede, As has been said before, how many times, but at least there is a possibility things may be a bit different next year.

And as for those thinking AW not to blame for that goal, why does he have them playing so far up the park? Where is the defensive discipline? I was thinking about about going to the Burnley game but why give a send off to someone who has had the same pathetic failings for the last 10 years and been paid handsomly for them. And before the "3 FA Cups" comments are banded about, yes they were great, but we all knew that those were papering over ever increasing cracks where every game, no, every ball punted forward, is a possible banana skin.

Only Arsenal could have Arsenaled that up so badly last night.

Defenders playing too high up the pitch when we're protecting a 1-0 advantage, total dominance, playing against 10 men, 72% possession, 20 odd shots and we draw 1-1 and give them a fantastic advantage in a very difficult away leg.

Koscielny has been training with Griezmann for years with the France squad, you'd think he would have the measure of the fella by now.

Madrid are one of the best counter attacking teams around, how and why did we seem unaware of the risks.

Inevitable really.

I expect a valiant fight in the second leg, showing great 'mental strength' and 'quality', coming close but not making the final....seen it all before.

Is it true that Madrid have only conceded four goals at home this season? eek

If we had any savvy going to Madrid we'd play them at their own game and keep it really tight for the first hour and then chase a goal when they hopefully start seeing the finish line and start getting a little nervous. But no, we'll chase the game from the kick off and probably be a goal down inside the first 10 minutes and then it'll be game over when they shut up shop. All so predictable....................

sigh. i wanted a win i actually want to win this now the old fool is going. but sigh

the banter era enscapulated.

kos is a busted flush time and injury have caught up with him. finished. from a ligue deux level start he became a usually decent defender who always had a mistake in him and couldnt compete against muscular forwards. now hes gone completely.

mustafi, i have no idea if just crap or a better coach could do something with. the fact that neville said valencia couldnt give him away is not encouraging, yet he gets in the german squad.

i had a feeling we would do them 3-0 and we really should have after the first 10 minutes situation, scrape throuh in the 2nd leg, and then cock the final up against marseilles.

oh for the CWC days of stoic defending against PSG and Sampdoria

Exactly this. I have never seen us concede sooooo many goals. It’s not a matter of if we will now but when and only hope we score enough to win.

If only we could defend against a side that played without Diego Costa.

Couldn't even finish off a 10 man team at home.

Pitiful performance... the next manager will have some serious dross to clear out!

Quite frankly we could play the ladies team for all I care if we beat Athletico on Thursday. Didn’t Maureen do much the same last year before the final?

If you were Liverpool with thoughts of protecting a 5-2 advantage I could understand it with some of their irreplaceable stars but if the worse happened to any Arsenal player today and had to miss thursday would it make any difference? Not meaning Arsenal have no chance thursday but more a case of replacing one average player with another average player. Why don't he put a decent team out today so the paying customers can watch a good match rather than over complicate everything. I be glad when he's gone.
