Signs are that we look like a more cohesive team but defence is still a massive fking issue. We just don’t defend well as a unit at all!

Ceballos looks great!
Considering it’s the first game Luiz and Socratis have played together I don’t think they did that badly. Also Xhaka didn’t play either so little or no proper protection for the back four I was expecting a lot worse, though that could be taken either way I suppose laugh
I got offered a ticket at last minute, so went to the game, first time I've been to emirates since last home game of the 2016-7 season.
Ceballos looked to real deal indeed, but I have to say, Luiz could be a bargain buy, as it looked like we actually had someone that might be that leader/bossy role that we seem to have lacked for so long. Early days of course, but watching a lot of the away from the ball stuff, I think there's a few small glimmers of optimism about where we could be for the season.

2 massive back to back tests coming up. We'll really know where we are and what we've got to do after these.

You just get so much more of a feel for the individual players when you actually get to games. Need to get myself organised!

Roma 'interested' in a (possibly) loan deal for Mustafi.

Happy to start a Go Fund Me page to help this along.

^^^^ corrected linky https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49401513

That was on the news at lunchtime, I wouldn’t trust him any further than I could throw him. Give us three or four transfer windows like this one and I’ll change my mind. We’ve got over 10 years of stagnation to catch-up on.

Agree with the trust issue, but I have been very please with the outcome of this window. I think they played it (myself included) very well.

we still spent naff all. raul has done well getting in the calibre of players he has, but JK and have not made more funds available. our net spend, although higher than the oft quoted 45m which was bks, wasnt massive.

The gaffer has told Mustafi and Elany to go find new clubs prior to the window closing.

looks like Monreal is off to Spain, thankyou and good luck to him in the move.

Big game tomorrow, time to get hyped, going into London City for beers with the better half to watch the match after much vino on the river. No doubt will be surrounded by Liverpool fans.

not much team news other than the above, Xhaka and Pepe set for starts.

my zip up top and third strip shirt have arrived and very nice they are too.

Think letting Monreal go before Tierney is fit is a mistake, we should keep him until Xmas at least.

Pepe starts! Looking forward to watching the game but (very) nervous about the outcome.

Looks like an ostensible 433?

Confined to live text atm.

Painful viewing so far, players trying to play out from the back time and again when they’re not good enough to do so frown

It’s a bit bloody nerve wrecking when we try that lark!

Not surprised to be losing at half time, shame Pepe didn’t take that 1 on 1 though.

Another one we've been lumbered with, David Luiz.

You knew what he was like, wasn't exactly an unknown quantity.

Hopefully today's performance will give Chambers a chance against Spurs.

So far off the pace it was shocking, a little pride restored towards the end but I think Emery got the team and tactics way off today. Credit to Liverpool but we’re better than that.
