Awesome performances from bfg, xhaka, sanchez,I would like wenger to announce he is going after next season giving them a full season to get it all 'just right'
I think of all the options for Arsenal - this is the worst. If he is going to go, get it over with. By Jan next season the speculation will be so draining, and for Wenger himself will he be able to maintain the commitment knowing he is off. I know a good professional will say and do all the right things, but over an entire year, it will be very difficult, almost inhuman to manage.
For most clubs Wenger would be someone to be treasured, given the success he has bought to the club.
Be careful what you wish for

He will have to go eventually, one way or the other and whether through his choice or pushed through unrest. The heel dragging just shows the rank board incompetence allowing this situation to significantly affect the playing staff and in the end losing our champions league place and worse maybe Ozil and Sanchez. There is no doubt what he's done over the years has been incredible but it been shown time and again that he just hasnt got what it takes to compete with the best in the league or champoins league any more. The FA Cups have been nothing more than a sticking plaster albeit a nice one. The strategic decisions in big games have shown time and again that he cant put together a team to be tight in hard games like Bayern, to get utterly dicked once, you say far enough, sometimes it happens but to do exactly the same thing a few days later shows his pig headedness is his biggest fault. To carry on doing the same thing over and over and failing is a weird personality trait for someone so supposedly intelligent.
Im glad he's had a win but nothing changes for me, that should be his swansong and we say thanks for everything and move on.
Unfortunatley i see a press release on Wed/Thursday after the board meeting announcing he's been given anothet 2 years and £xm warchest, bla de bla more bks about buying whoever we want, yeah right, Thursday league, like thats going to happen.
The thing I think is unfortunate is that for some bizarre reason the board were unable to make a decision before now. Surely one game has not changed their mind about whether Wenger is the right man for the job ?
If they do decide to say "thanks. but no thanks" it's almost guaranteed that Sanchez and Ozil go (so that surely has to be on the board's mind) and Arsenal's first game of pre-season is mid-early July...so they'll presumably have to have a radical restructuring of the club (whoever replaces Wenger won't get a role anywhere near as broad) and appoint a successor/new management team in the next two weeks. Easy.

All things considered, and despite how I feel about Wenger and the feeling of mediocrity around the club in recent years, after watching how the players - and Wenger - celebrated together shows that all is not bad, and even though we've been st recently, we have still managed to break another record. Chuffed to bits. Gunners.
...and we won another bit of silverware at Totnum

Think Arsenal fans get carried away and ideas above their station. Wenger has a win ratio of 58% and has won an average of 0.76 trophies per year since he joined Arsenal in 1996. That compares with Arsenal FC's overall record of 0.27 trophies per year between 1893 and 1996. His performance is way above-average for Arsenal.

A perfect example of how stats can be misleading. So you consider losing to Bayern 10-2 over 2 legs and finishing mid table progress over the last year ?One game does not a season make.
Where has that fire and enthusiasm been all season ? - down to the manager to install it and nurture.
Winning the FA Cup is always special. I particularly enjoyed this triumph as we were expected to get beaten my City and then we didn't really need to turn up against Chelsea as it was apparently going to be a procession, I certainly don't expect us to beat Chelsea either but the manner of the performance and the determination was fantastic.
However, let's be very clear. The club is no further forward than it as last year, the year before that, the year before that (repeat).
We've seen consistently over the last few seasons Arsenal don't have the bottle t challenge and only come good from about March when usually there's little left to play for.
For this club to compete at the top tier of European football we need a new approach and I just can't see Wenger doing that. He feels the last 7-8 games are a vindication of his methods and we should all no better than to challenge him.
Well I do challenge him. He's not good enough for a club of this size with allegedly a desire to be one of the most successful clubs in Europe. Thank you for the trophies Arsene, they are all treasured but please, please just go now on a high.

I think the FA cup has softened the blow for Wenger.
Pitchforks would have been out if Arsenal had lost.
Him leaving means Arsenal would be going into the unknown, a bit like Ferguson leaving Man Utd so there is a risk isn't there?
Of course there is. However, given we have seen the club hit the same buffer year after year, fail to pass it, too many of us are now ready to take that jump into the unknown. Pitchforks would have been out if Arsenal had lost.

I often think there are far too many clubs that will hire and fire managers way to liberally. This club is the polar opposite. There is something to be said for that, unfortunately the club has gone on too long in it's current MO.
The really sad fact is the manager is at risk for turning a large portion of fans into resenting him so much it will eclipse his quite marvellous achievements of years past.
