It must be hard for Arsenal fans to watch Tottenham matching giants like Real, while they slum it against minnows like Red Star. Tottenham is fast becoming London's top team.

Bloody awful game, I've been less bored watching us get stuffed! Brilliant winner though! Would like to see Jack get a few starts in the league now.

Red Star are not minnows, they won the European Cup in the 90s and back when Yugoslavia existed they were a team no one wanted to draw.

Yep. Red Star Belgrade are a PROPER football team.

Good winner. But, blimey, what a boring team to watch Arsenal have become.

They won the European Cup in 1991. That's like saying Leeds are good because they won the EPL in 1992....

Their game against FK Partizan is mental, my brother and I managed to bag tickets for a game in 2015 through his girlfriends family who are locals.......Fighting, stadium seats being ripped up, flares, smoke, dozens of police injured, the start of the game was delayed and so was the second half so that the smoke from the fireworks and flares had a chance to clear, you name it - the crowd, some of which was evicted from the stands by the riot police during the game, was essentially a riot from start to finish

The game finished 0-0 hehe

Indeed it is. And the detail is that RSB have spent €4.5m on players in the last 4 years, whereas Arsenal have spent €310m over the same period. They're ranked 195 in Europe (6 places below FK Aktobe). Whereas Arsenal are 11th. They haven't played in the CL since they won it and haven't played in Europe for 10 years until now. So in relation to Arsenal, they most certainly are minnows.

Good win, even if it was against a poor side.

Incredible that LB Nacho has apparently equalled AOCs goal tally for Arsenal.

I think Nacho is actually one of our best, if underrated, players. Always puts the effort in, no stupid haircuts or tattoos, just gets on with the job.

He is....hugely underrated.

In other news if this Barca bod is Emirates bound that could solve a massive issue the club has

I too am out and not going back. I berated the lad beside me who 3 years ago swore he wasn't going back till AW left and sublet his season ticket but with hindsight he was right. Don't have the energy to whinge about it anymore.
Yep, why I won't be going to any matches this season, as my very good friend, who has been a ST holder since 1971....has sublet his two ST's for this season...due to combination of frustration and the enforced changes to the PL match schedules because of the Europa League schedules...meaning he just wasn't going to be able see enough home games to justify the expense.

Can't help but thinking that Europa League is the right level for this squad at the moment....City this weekend. Imagine if we had to play Roma away like Chelsea did last night...before taking on City. We've seen time and again that we can't handle that kind of fixture list (normally in Feb when we've drawn Bayern/Barcelona in the knockouts stages)

I agree.

5th/6th place battle for EL is now where we are at, not 3rd/4th and CL.

It's a really sad indictment, but I'm at a point for the first time in 24 years where I really couldn't care about football anymore. I still check the results but genuinely don't remember the last time I scrambled to change the channel over because we were playing and the match was televised.
