I'm very interested to see who they recruit for the now vacant back room positions. I think we'd become very stale and complacent in those areas over the years. Exciting times ahead.

I was discussing this yesterday (Re Sanchez and his fitness)

I've long thought that your injury and fitness issues were worse than many other top clubs and then AW goes and the physio and a load of the medical team are bounced out the door

You might get some more game time out of certain players with a new team

But then again Sanchez has hardly shone since going to Manure either. Big changes were definitely needed behind the scenes though, so much of the sloppiness on the field had to be down to the same issues.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a couple of his previous players appearing on the scene, Nzonzi etc.

Yeah wholly agree, I guess my musing was, is he suffering from a lack of fitness due to the regime there and therefore would we maybe see a better player next season (I bloody hope so smile )

Who knows about the injury/fitness issues we've had, it could be bad luck, I doubt we were ever doing much different from other clubs.

What interests me is the tactical improvements I hope a new back room team can help with, I've seen so many games that we've thrown away or not turned up to because we've got thing so wrong, and seemingly not prepared for the opposition.

For Example, I've always been intrigued that Jens Lehmann is a First team coach at Arsenal. Not a goalkeeping coach, an outfield coach....having never coached anywhere before.

It's official then. Emery's appointment has just gone up on Arsenal.com.

Interesting that they refer to him as 'our new head coach' and not manager.
Reflects his salary and influence? No control in player buying and selling?
He'll have plenty of say in buying and selling, it'll be a team effort, just the handling of both will be out of his hands.

Just watched the full press conference, for someone who can’t speak English he did a damn sight better than I could have in Spanish hehe

Ivan really is the smarmiest git known to man kind, I wouldn’t trust him any further than I could throw him, he makes the correct noises but the delivery is so insincere it makes me want to punch him very hard.

Anyway, Unai comes across very well, let’s hope he’s as good as he sounds. He clearly believes the team is performing way below what it’s capable of so will enjoy watching some arses being kicked into shape in the new season.

I like the cut of Emery's jib.

Gazidis however is an arrogant and condescending piece of arse, have never liked the guy since he was appointed and is nothing but Stans puppet.

It would annoy me that the bands on the arms are not the same shade of red as the shirt.

They are, just very fine bands with white in between them so they look pink from a distance. tts.

At the end of last season I decided to I'd had enough of the whole situation at Arsenal. Totally disillusioned with Wengers reign and the management of the club I decided to take a break from Arsenal.

During the season just gone I started to follow more closely my cousins local team St Albans City in the National South. I've had a tremendous season, see some fantastic matches and performances and of course there has been disappointment along the way with The Saints just finishing outside the play off places. I have my passion for the game back and next season myself and my cousin have bought season tickets at St Albans.

Today I'm delighted we finally have a fresh start at Arsenal. I think of the Managers available Emery was the best choice in terms of his age, experience and recent achievements. I've listened to the press conference and read the comments on social media and I'm encouraged and hopeful based on what I've heard.

I believe Emery needs to be given time, it's not going to be fixed overnight but I'm hopefully there is reason to look forward to next season with interest. If we can get back in to the top 4 and again be a strong contender in the Europa League perhaps even win it given his track record. I would consider that a very successful campaign.

At last reasons to look forward. However, that kit........oh dear!!!

I think that’s a really fair way to look at it. There are fans on all parts of the spectrum, some unforgiving of the last few years, others more conciliatory and thinking that there may have been other aspects that meant that these would have been challenging years regardless.

But at the end of it all it’s just football. All things being equal the club could be in a far worse condition and there could be proper clowns making everyone’s lives a misery.

But it’s a new era, and all signs are pointing to a want to build the right infrastructure and environment not just to win one trophy here and there but to have another era of sustained success.

Emery looks right to me and hopefully the factionalism/tribalism dies down, the players pull up their socks, and we start contending more frequently again. New era, look forward.
