Well Ancelloti is available.
God, if only. One can hope, but I highly doubt it'll happen. In fact, it says alot about how little hope I have left that none of the big names being bandied about seem even vaguely realistic. We'll end up with Arteta methinks, and christ I can only hope he's picked up a lot from Pep. Lampard has given me a vague hope that an ex player might not be a total disaster, but I think he's the exception and not the rule. Even then, he's doing well but not incredibly so.

Well Ancelloti won't go back to Bayern and apart from them arsenal are by some way the biggest club currently looking for a manager. And he was definitely interested last time out. If he wants to get straight back into management then surely it should be a formality to get him in.
A part of me is interested to see if Arteta really is the next big thing as he is obviously well thought of - but is this the time for a risk.
Just not convinced by Vieira. It's a shame there is no chance of getting Rodgers as he is just ideal. I won't complain though as I was someone who didn't want him last time around!

Come on Uncle Carlo, London is calling. And bring 4 players with you.

I'd very much fear Arteta taking the AFC job could stuff up his managerial/coaching CV for a long time, if it didn't work being chucked in the deep end so early? I really he thing he needs to go off to a smaller club in Spain or Championship for a couple of years and prove himself. As said, Pep will be offski to Italy end of this season, or at very least end of next season.
And, yes, I'd take Carlo as number one choice of those available at the moment. Proven at top level, as well as having PL experience.
Someone of Anchelotti’s quality becoming available is great but I wouldn’t see him as a long term fit, just another sticking plaster. I can’t say I’ve been particularly enamoured with what I’ve seen so far with what Freddie has done with the team, but he has fallen into a monumental ststorm of players bereft of any confidence and toxic supporters, but part of that is down to the clubs ownership and I think he should be given a proper chance. Maybe a Fred/Anchelotti duo? A Fritata so to speak...

I'd keep Fred on in some kind of management moral boosting role, you could see the way the players reacted to him after the win, he's clearly got their backs and that was great to see.
It did actually remind me of the sort of relationships Pep and Klopp have with their players. Actually wanting to play for your manager is a huge part of it. Gassing Station | Football | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
