I don't think that is particularly relevant. Both were dangerous play, intent or not. One got a red and the other didn't even get considered. The damage to Mustafi's face doesn't look good.
It wasn’t outstanding before Vardy’s boot connected tbh.

I must admit to not really thinking that much of the Vardy/Mustafi incident on first viewing, but having seen a couple more angles of it that people have posted on social media, I believe that it is an un-natural movement, is reckless, and is a red card (although I don't believe for one minute that he meant to catch Mustafi in the head). The Nketiah challenge was just unlucky I feel, he just wasn't quite up to speed with the game and fractionally miss-timed it. Was definitely a red card, no intent. What I found also quite frustrating was on Sky Sports News this morning - they showed highlights of the game, and talked about "the big talking point" which was the Nketiah red card, yet didn't even mention the Vardy/Mustafi incident. They also cut the most prudent bit of the Arteta post match interview (where it showed him clearly raging inside) when he mentioned that the Vardy/Mustafi incident should have resulted in a red card! Very odd journalism...

LIterally no-one called for it at the time though, so I'm not surprised a red wasn't given. I definitely think he did it on purpose though, whether or not he meant to hit his head is another matter.

Regarding the journalism comment, Sky were awful (and usually are), we were hardly mentioned last night and I don't even think they discussed our first goal being chalked off.

That is a good point - nothing was made of it at the time so the ref didn't look twice. Still doesn't explain why VAR didn't pick something up on it...

I don't for one second believe that he intended to plant his studs about two inches from Mustafi's eyes - it looked a bit more like he slyly lashed out in frustration or something? Not sure, obviously impossible to say.

Sky are generally just awful. BBC no better. In Mark Lawrenson's previews for this round of games then Man United have won 4/5 and are the countries form team. Meanwhile, Arsenal win 4/5 and he the Wolves result could have been different and Leicester will win. He is absolutely shocking, has not got a scooby doo. And Garth Crooks is even worse.

Also, has anyone seen Mourinho's reaction to a question about Diet's ban? Just refused to comment in case he "gets into trouble". Just answer the bloody question you idiot!

So glad arsenal didn't appoint him. I don't think it would have been seriously considered but still.....

Totally agree with the above the way Vardy hooked his leg was intentional in my eyes and he knew it.. Nketiahs challenge looked a lot worse when it was slowed down than in realtime, he was trying to cushion the ball down and in my opinion wasnt a tackle..

Saying that Laca should have taken his chances, but headed and shot straight at the keeper on both occasions. We should of put leicester to bed in the first half. How Leicester are where they are in the leauge is beyond me.

Not sure how Willock is a proffesional footballer, cant do the basics very well ie passing the ball in front of the player where they want it. Would of liked to have seen Pepe make an appearance instead

Masters of our own undoing again.

Simple passes out wide but no let's cut back and play back into the middle towards our own goal.
Not sure why these defenders continue to have brain farts nearly every game.
We really need to get a hold of these mistakes as they are costing us so often.

It was a good game and credit to the Spuds they raised themselves whereas we didn't and then dropped off second half again.

On balance it might have been a draw but don't begrudge them the win.

Strange game. Not quite sure how we lost it to be honest. Again, thought we looked in control for large parts, gifted them their first, could not get the second, and and a set piece goal concedes the winner. Frustrating and disappointing in the end though, and a tough fixture next up to try and bounce back from this...

Everytime I watch you, a lot of the conceded goals seem to be of your own doing. I know they say the majority of goals conceded are due to mistakes, but like a lot of the time yours are bad passes in defence or individual mistakes. If Arteta can cut these out then you'll do a lot better next season. First off I'd take bloody Luiz out of the team, as he's a bombscare IMO.

Their equaliser was Kolas fault he had an age to give a simple pass out to the player that was free on the left, dallied on it then turned around and gave a pass with his weak foot to the right hand side of Luiz who is left footed and it went behind him.
Even if he used his weak foot he knows Luiz is left footed so play it into the space nearer the touchline not in the space centre towards the goal.
You could say Luiz maybe should have been a bit further back but still simple pass and he messed it up.

Time and again stupid mistakes like this are costing us dearly and you can guarantee there's a mistake like this in all the defenders every game.

Really can't wait for this season to be over and we start again with a couple of new defenders and midfielders.

Cabellos might work hard but he can't unlock a defence like an Ozil could or carry the ball forward.

We need a player in the mould of Carzorla or even bring him back along with Partey.

No point playing out the back when the players are incapable of doing so, it just invites pressure.

I have watched the first spurs goal a few times, yes a very poor pass but how on earth Luiz still doesn’t reach it and push Son off the ball?

Running in treacle

Draw would have been a fair result

Claude axed from AFTV and Robbie 'forced' to apaologise for referring to Son as "DVD".

Daily Fail

I think the 'show' needs to be axed, but is 'DVD' offensive? Really? I personally can't see it (in this context).

More interested in us not getting absolutely nobbed against the scousers tonight, than what’s going on with Robbie and his band of rabble. Wonder if Mikel will change the defence tonight after the frankly pathetic efforts against spuds...

Well, if Citeh did us for 3, and then did the scousers for 4 (plus Liverpool having become accustomed to doing well against us) I'd say we might need to prepare for a battering.

They're also in hot water for Troopz saying Harry Kane didn't get booked 'because he's white so he must be white init'.

Not long ago Robbie was telling us how hard it was to grow up as a black football fan, but the excuse for Claude saying that yesterday was absolutely ridiculous, Claude clearly said 'DVDs coming off', it had nothing to do with them making a DVD about the game or whatever. Robbie only axed Claude because sponsors were threatening to pull out, so he's fine with so called 'racism', unless it's going to cost him some coin.

The whole lot of them are idiots anyway, but yeah.

I can see you getting at least a draw tonight, I really don't know why, just feels like one of those games.

The context for DVD is that quite often it is used as a stereotype relating to mostly Chinese but effectively most south east asian nationalities. The stereotype being they are often found selling knock off DVD's in pubs etc. Its bks, of course, like all such stereotypes, but it is derogatory and race based.

I had no idea about it until this happened, but for someone to use it in relation to Son being subbed would suggest they were aware of the connection. Whether he knew the context behind it, or was just parroting others they have heard, only he can say. The fact they tried to bullst it away in the first (now deleted) explanation video is telling.

Its actually a pity, since Claude always seemed the most genuine of those clowns and had suffered from all kinds of mental health issues apparently, but there you go. It was a matter of time with this bunch before they crossed some line or other. No doubt people will be pouring over their old vids now and likely more will be found.

They were recently sponsored / working by Harry's, they have ditched them already.

by my maths that means you will win 1-0, we are on holiday already and playing sporadically, suspect a draw unless Luiz starts
