New St Mirren boss making an impressive start. Feared for them tonight, especially with new signing Ferdinand at centre half, but they’ve done the business by all* accounts.

Another crap game from what I seen.

Even when Celtic went down to 10 men St Mirren just parked the bus.

BT said 75% possession, but the BBC say 63%.

Hearts have a chance to get a bit of breathing space tomorrow. I think they'll beat Motherwell.

Hibs and Killie play tomorrow. The teams that could have a good run are all taking points of each other.

Aberdeen and Rangers both really need to win tomorrow.

Coulibaly is back for Rangers and he is the absolute man. He’s like 2 players. Rangers by 3 tomorrow if Kevin Clancy doesn’t brandish random cards...

I fancy Motherwell to give Hearts a good game. I could get used to this Celtic mediocrity, the league has some talking points early doors.

Celtic looked average but then they were a class above Rangers in the OF game. Inconsistency from Celtic or are Rangers just poor, especially away from home? Time will tell.

Aberdeen missing players sand down to 10 min after 4 mins last outing. They will improve.

I expect St Mirren didn’t let Celtic play, and got in aboot them last night. That seems to be the way to go, but it risks a scudding if Celtic get their game going.

Perhaps Celtic were disadvantaged by some players away until midweek on the international travels, as applied to the whole Rangers squad in the recent Old Firm match. A bit of new manager bounce for the Buddies too.

I can’t help but think Celtic players are building a rod for their own back with their 10 in a row chat. Doesn’t seem totally respectful to the opposition, and it may have the effect of firing teams up against them a couple of extra per cent.

Best (most exciting?) start to the season for a while...?

Only due to Hearts. They've already beaten Celtic and can go 5 points clear today. That would be a big statement.

Although Celtic have toiled in recent games they'll still finish the weekend joint second at worst.

Aberdeen, Hibs and Rangers have all dropped silly points so far this season. I'm sure all will be unhappy with only 5 points after 4 games. They all needed to be picking up points when Celtic were dropping them.

Bit unfair to say it’s only due to Hearts. St Mirren taking points off Celtic just up from the Championship, and Livi are joint second too, for example. There’s early stories all round the country and table IMO.

I do fear for Dundee. They offered very little today, and I don’t think it’s because Rangers didn’t let them. They’re needing a wee boost.

Great story for Livi. It's fun and good to see them doing well. I predicted they'd be relegated, but after that start things are looking good. A top 6 finish would still be a dream. Hopefully they are living within their means this time and don't end up in administration again.

Dundee look in deep trouble already. I can see a new manager there soon.

Yes St Mirren packed the box and got a point. It's not a big deal.

Hearts leading by 5 points is the story. They've beaten Celtic and got a lead. With Celtic misfiring it's creating a big interest. None of the other teams are good enough to offer a real threat. Hearts have shown they might just be that team.

It's Hearts v Livingston next week. Either Livingston drop off or Celtic will be back on the heels of Hearts. I think Hearts will win with comfort.

On saying that Celtic are at Killie after playing Rosenborg. Maybe a chance for Hearts to get further ahead.

Even your lies are lies laugh

Tavernier, Goldson, Ejaria, Kent, Worrall, Foderingham, Halliday, McCrorie, Candeias & Middleton not one cap at full international level between them, Jon Flanagan one cap for a friendly in 2014, must have been an exhausting Pro-Evo session for them prior to playing Celtic biggrin

I think he was referring to Rangers being in Russia 30 hours before the Celtic game.

But do come and tell us about truth on the other thread. laugh

How peculiar. Must’ve been a lot of research went into that post despite it grabbing the wrong end of the wrong stick silly

Not particularly, given the amount of English projects in the squad, however I did pick you up wrong, fair pidgeons

Mahoosive test for Rangers tonight. 5th in La Liga last year were Villarreal. Had an easy game Saturday and plenty time to prepare so let’s hope for a creditable show against an opposition truly a class above.

Let’s hope Rosenborg aren’t learning from their many experiences of playing Celtic too smile

Rosenberg will have watched with interest how easily St Mirren frustrated Celtic and a draw will suit them fine!
Rangers on the other hand will have to defend like they did in the Old Firm game and will be delighted if they can come away with a point.

Rangers are all over the place. Lucky that Villarreal keep making a mess of the final ball. They don't look particularly good themselves.
