my bad! and no the dutch won’t win the euros if they perform like that.
Think that was a great performance by scotland, held the ball well, some creative play, not our best 11 and 2 goals. Think that was a great result to get in preparation for the euros.
and i still fancy my chances at winning £18k!!!! haha
Is it too early to get carried away? I reckon this squad is up there with Ally’s Army. And I don’t mean Coisty...Think that was a great performance by scotland, held the ball well, some creative play, not our best 11 and 2 goals. Think that was a great result to get in preparation for the euros.

They honestly thought they could win the World Cup.
They did got a good result against Holland as well.

LOL, are you seriously saying Che Adams and Lyndon Dykes are as good as Kenny Dalglish and Joe Jordan, or that Hanley and Cooper are up there with McQueen and Buchan?
Not as strong up front and centre half no (I wasn’t alive in ‘78 so I’ll bow to first hand knowledge knowledge) but we’ve not had multiple champions league winners medals, Man Utd’s first choice CM, and a multitude of other players who are the first names on Premier League and Old Firm team sheets for a while. I fancy us!

I think we have a solid squad, definitely the strongest we’ve had for a while. but I don’t think we compare to some of the ‘78 players. but in future will we look up to/ hold robertson/ mcginn in the same regard as gemmill/ dalgleish....... so certainly hope we do simoid said:

absolutely not!!!!! I’m not the oldest at 36 and can’t reminisce of the ‘glory days’, but I can’t believe the last time I saw us in a major tournament was france ‘98. rushing home from school to see us play brazil in the opening game, being involved in a summer of football. I’ve suffered through some absolute nonsense from bertie vogts and george burley, to kevin kyle and scott dobbie up front, beating france home and away yet still not qualifying, to queueing outside ‘safeway’ as that’s the only place you can buy tickets for games, to thinking we’ve got a decent crowd when 15k turn up at hampden........
so no, it’s not too early to get carried away! do i honestly think we’ll win the euros- no. but I think we have a very good chance of getting out the group (even if we’re picking up the best 3rd place spots).
I’m meeting up with my full group of friends for the first time in over a year. all taking the day off to go out and watch the czech game, plus we have 5 tickets for the croatia game. We are all absolutely buzzing for this, maybe this is our year.........
Malks we’re probably about the youngest folk who can remember any sort of team better than the pics we’ve evolved to have more good players I think and ultimately that’s what gives us a better chance of winning matches. (Totally unfair to realistically compare 70s with today in any serious fashion... yet...)

We have a great selection in midfield, a couple of class defenders in Robertson and Tierney, and as you say, more PL players than any time in the past 20 years. I'm quite optimistic too.
Watching the news just now. If you're going to the Scotland games you won't get in unless you turn up at your allocated time. Times start 3 hours before kick off.
Are they really expecting people to adhere to those rules and sit in the stadium for 3 hours with nothing to do? They aren't even serving food or drink.

don’t have any other options by the looks of it!! we have tickets for croatia game, our slot is 5:30-6pm for an 8pm kick off. i’ve to take my own snacks in and will get complimentary bottles of water in the stadium……. really not how i expected my first time watching us in a major tournament to go, but what can you do?!? at least i don’t have to provide a ‘vaccine passport’ or negative test, like my mate has to do for wembley! and thankfully seems like too little time for this to be brought in for monday’s game!

3 hours to get 12,000 people in is highly excessive.

It's not getting into the stadium that's the busiest part. It's getting out. Are they going to stagger people getting out?

some quick maths makes that- 4,000 people going into the stadium per hour, divide that by say 100 turnstiles? so 40 people going thru a turnstile per hour!!! and as of that isn’t crazy enough, my group of 4 are going to rock up at the exact same time, so instead of being spread out over 5-10mins we’ll all be in within 1min. 3 hours to get 12,000 people in is highly excessive.
But I shouldn’t really complain, we are getting to go to the game!!!!
Nice to see the Czechs foremost UK based player diffusing the situation before next week:
