C'mon then, who is playing?

I know it hasn't be officially released in the UK yet, but there are a few apk files floating around on the internet already.

If you haven't seen anything about it yet, here is some info: Pokemon Go wiki page and the trailer: Youtube Video. For those that have played it, it uses the same map and location points as Ingress.

I'm pretty sure this is going to be huge when it is officially released, Japan and Australia are already going mental over it.

So; who else is playing, what is your level and which team are you?

Don't be embarrassed, everyone loves pokemon wink

Guy at work has it installed on his Nexus 6P (Android 6.0.2) so thought I'd give it a go as I used to play Pokemon as a kid.

Unfortunately I'm on the testing program for Android and have Android Nougat 7.0 installed on my Nexus 6P and the game doesn't work on it frown

You can get it in the UK on an iPhone too, you just need to create an Apple ID with the region set to the US. Then sign into this, download the app and then sign back in to your existing account!

All of the pokestops near me are local churches, not sure how I should feel about that from a kids game hehe

Did over 8km of wandering around Swansea marina this afternoon. Caught 24 pokemon. Saw loads of things I've never noticed before by visiting pokestops. Level 5 now. Team Valor.

Haven't played since red/blue.

For those that already play it, is it worth me faffing around creating another Apple ID? FWIW I will definitely download it when it comes out in the UK..

Is it just basically Ingress with Pokemon?

I see a lot of comments on Twitter from the US, horrified gamers distraught at the prospect of being tired out by a game! Lots of sore feet...

hehe

Is based on ingress but a lot of extras, it does use the same ingress portals though

My 9yr old son got me to download it on Friday for his iPad. Judging by the excitement this is causing with him and his friends I think we may be looking at the next big thing.

Be prepared to see a lot of kids wandering around parks and grassy areas with their phones in front of them and not looking where they are going.

People looking at phones not looking where they're going, that's completely normal!

I'll wait for the official UK release, showed my 6 year old and he's keen after playing proper Pokemon on his DS.

Hah - your comment made me do a bit of research and I hadn't realised it's actually made by Niantic as well (my original comment was meant slightly tongue-in-cheek). Damn good idea for them, they'll make a killing now.

Downloaded this yesterday and proceeded to play it near enough all day.. had a few people round last night for drinks and of course that ended up being a past midnight adventure to find some Pokemon and try and take a couple of Gyms (Team Mystic!) we went out at around 12AM and didn't get in till 3-4, pretty sure we saw a few people doing the same too hehe

You can get more at Pokestops (the blue squares) usually get 4 or 5 at each.

APK for anyone that wants it http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/niantic-inc/pokemon-g...

I have two nearby. Explaining to your other half you're nipping to the Pokestops to get more pokeballs...

Luckily the Mrs was happy to come with me yesterday and there's absolutely loads of stops with a 30 minute walk of my house.

Got 140 pokeballs at the moment.
