Discussion
Think it was related to Tripp Smith who bought the Icelandic part of the shareholding late last year. Not sure how him handing over a wedge of cash would affect FFP etc if he is a bona-fide shareholder.
As I said, was just something I heard - probably nothing in it but you never know.......

I think one of the challenges is to work on the wage issue - our wages apparently are right on the ceiling of FFP so we need to make some hard decisions, release AC and free those wages up? What about Hernandez, again big salary to be sat on the bench each week. At least Hart off the books means we could put trust in Adrian and bring in a back up keeper.

Well, to give the man his credit, he promised a big manager and he has delivered. And to echo comments made above, we need to back Pellegrino in the transfer market.
I happen to think this is your best chance in a generation to move forward. But you MUST be patient. He’s a great appointment commensurate with the new the 60k stadium and who you want to be in the future. The boo-boys must be kept in check for at least 3 seasons - maybe 4.

Why would we buy him? terrible season with us, probably wont get any better next season.
Can't see City wanting to loan him out again, especially to us, maybe they will loan him abroad again or championship to make him look better.
I’m not saying we would or should ... Can't see City wanting to loan him out again, especially to us, maybe they will loan him abroad again or championship to make him look better.
I’m simply pointing out the circumstances.
I think there will be inevitable comparisons to previous players etc. but he should be picking up the best players he can for the positions we need them in. Centre back and centre mid are first two that should be addressed urgently. I feel reasonably comfortable with our attack at the moment IF we play the same formation, depends on how the new manager wants to play it really.

It also depends on who wants to stay or go among the current squad. pincher said:
Reports in the papers saying MP may have up to £75m to spend.
Presumably that figure includes proceeds of any sales that may happen.
We’ve never seen that sort of figure bandied around before - I’m sure there is something going on behind the scenes
If Lanzini is sold for £50m that leaves £25 to improve the squad. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.Presumably that figure includes proceeds of any sales that may happen.

A new KPMG report puts West Ham as the 16th most valuable club in Europe, worth a smidgen over half a billion Euros.

I thought they were trying to give him an extended contract?
Mind you, £50m would be a tidy profit.
He's off to the WC so presume anything will settled post-tournament. Mind you, £50m would be a tidy profit.
Can't see (and certainly don't want) him being sold though w/ MP now at the helm.
Agree thought that £50m (can't actually see him being a £50m player either though) would be a hell of a return - cost us circa £15m (?) from memory.
