Issa Diop confirmed, sounds a decent signing.

£22m on a defender - never thought I’d see the day at West Ham! bounce

With Fredericks and Diop that will add some young blood to our defence.

I wonder if he is going with three centre backs then? Would mean a young defence with Rice and Diop on there with presumably Ogbona? Or does Cresswell fit in there too? But agree to have a back three from Ogbonna, Reid, Diop, Rice, Cresswell then Masuaku down the left and Fredericks/Zabaleta on the right it feels a bit more solid and much more mobile.

Just need that solid defensive central midfielder now...

I may be out on a limb here but I really want us to sign João Mário next. I think he could flourish under Pellegrini.

Still think he's £10m over priced, and presumably his price will increase the longer Portugal stay in the WC.

Frankly I'm not bothered about the valuation, that's down to the Chuckle Brothers to sort out. As long as the salaries don't cause consternation in the squad I don't care.

Likewise, think however there's better options out there that they money could be used for.

So long as it's spent of course rolleyes

I don't think I saw enough from Mario last season to convince me he is that game changer we should be throwing £30m+ at.

Fabianski has signed, undisclosed (rumoured 7m) for 3 years. Be the end of Adrian I would imagine now.

Fabianski done. Somewhat underwhelmed with this one.

If we don't get at least £7m for Adrian...

Feels overpriced for a relegated 33 year old keeper.

Don't get it unless he's going to be the back-up & we're keeping Adrian.

I would be a bit fed up if I was Adrian. Had to do battle with Randolph, then automatically lost his place to Hart, then this season has another keeper come in.

He could either just see it as another challenge to fend off or he could just say sod it I am off to be a guaranteed number 1 somewhere else.

Our new director of football said...

"Lukasz is an experienced and established Premier League goalkeeper, with great quality that he has shown at both domestic and international level.

"He fits perfectly the mould of the modern goalkeeper, with excellent agility, presence and distribution, and will bring strong competition to the position."

So - it sounds like Adrian is not up for sale, but I guess if he decides to jack it in can imagine he would get sold. What I would also read into this is that maybe they feel Adrian's distribution and command from his position is not good enough?

In fairness he's gone from Flappyhandsski at Arsenal, worked really hard at his game( seen lots of his technical training vids while Ben was in the system)and turned himself into a really solid Prem' level keeper.
None of the flashiness of Adrian, or making straightforward saves look flash, just decent nowadays all round.

Just don't see it as anything much of an upgrade on what we have. I didn't watch the Poland game yesterday - was he playing?

I reckon Adrian will be off - must be some value in him from our perspective as a sale.

I would want upwards of £5m for him. In his prime years, premier league experience etc.
