Just seen it on MoTD and it was even more blatant than I thought earlier, two players fouled two of our attackers. Need to just get shot of VAR, it's useless.
Just watched it as well & agree re var - I didn't want it in the first place.

How good was Antonio tank
Battering ram. Just hope he doesn't burn himself out, he really does seem to be a man on a mission at the moment.

There was one point in the second half where a move he was involved in broke down. He sprinted back 70yards so yards at full pelt to win the ball back and I was literally wincing in case he pulled up clutching his hamstring.

I didn’t watch MOTD , did the guys think it should have been a penalty?

Having watched him run out of steam on Mon eve, his fitness is certainly coming back.

Decent break now as we don't play again until Boxing Day (away obvs rolleyes).

It certainly was in last nights episode (by match commentator not GL in studio), they replayed the VAR and match commentator didn’t think there was enough for a pen

I still don’t understand how the defender held Antonio round the neck and that’s not seen as a foul/penalty.

If it had happened in the middle of the field the ref would have certainly blown for a free kick.... against Antonio rofl

Good 3 points, Didn't watch it all as connection kept dropping on SkyGO so watched about 3/4 of it. Missed the goal initially.

But from what I saw, we were just better than a poor team, come up against anybody half decent and were still in trouble?

Pundits didn't mention it - that was question.

I did think it was a pen.

Undoubtedly a pen, I thought the push in Antonio’s back was even more obvious the the WWE on Haller.

Yep, won’t change overnight, but with Ant running in behind we had so many more options and Haller wasn’t isolated.
The issue will be whether Pelle was forced into playing two up top because of Anderson’s illness or whether he felt it was right to change formation.
Good to see Fornals be involved in the goal, 3 assists in the last 4 goals now.

Yes Fornals seems to have a bit of spirit about him, the way he celebrates, the way he is gutted at losing. He is winning me over. Antonio is the heartbeat up front though, power, pace and willingness makes him a perfect foil for Haller, lets hope that with an Anderson return he doesn't just flip back to 4-5-1 again, we have to play two up top even if it means a depleted midfield (what a difference a top drawer central midfielder would make in Jan).

Has anyone heard anything about David Martin’s injury? We need him fit.

It’s really saying something about our transfer policy when we are saying we need him fit.

No real news other than that he has a muscle injury, but apparently Fabs is due back to face Palace on Boxing Day.

I know I will get shouted down but I still think Pelle should go and now is the right time, I admit I dont have to mind a replacement - if the Arsenal merry go round doesnt end up on the south coast then apparently Mr Howe might be interested. I just dont think us scraping a 1-0 win against Southampton can justify what has been tactical ineptness for the last 3 months.

Pellers said that it's the same as that which Fab suffered. Only at WH banghead

Annoyingly I don't think we've seen the last of him yet.
