I think the blinkered view of owners is ignored at pretty much all levels by fans. The place is just a club for the wealthy in an ivory tower. We deserve to go down due to the monumental mismanagement of the club over the last 5-10 years.

Police are looking for three West Ham supporters who homophobically abused Brighton supporters on Saturday.
A police spokesman said when caught they will be banned from watching West Ham for life so far 4900 supporters have said it was them.

Can’t disagree with much of that.

Yep about right, it just shows how completely disconnected the board are from the reality of football and what they have done. Each time they sit in the boardroom for an analysis its everyone elses fault, they 'saved' the club and they still believe that. We are completely doomed to relegation due to chronic underfunding of the 'boring' positions on the football field and completel mismanagement and failure to staff the club properly off it. If we were a business in any normal market the repeated failure would have led to their resignations long ago.

As I understand it, the money from the sale of Upton Park went into reducing the overdraft. Correct me if I am wrong.

The club now operates with a leased stadium, and seemingly has very little in the way of tangible assets. The value of players, brand name, etc are pretty ephemeral, and even more so if we are relegated.

The successful clubs seem to have no problem operating with enormous spending budgets, right up to and above the statutory limits in some cases, reflecting that in business you have to speculate in order to accumulate.

Yet at West Ham, the business model seems to be to spend just enough to stay in the Premier League somehow, and grab the TV money and big gates. But this can be knocked off target by injuries, poor staffing decisions and the onset of a general air of malaise that permeates all levels.

My fear is that the Hammers will not only get relegated but also find themselves in the kind of financial black hole that other clubs recently have experienced and end up bankrupt.

If you read the last 10 pages on here we are all clear that relegation will mean a long term thing for us, under no illusions.

I can't see them beating Man City this weekend. It's the layout of the London Stadium that makes the place so soul destroying. Brady will lose interest once they're relegated and it's less glamorous trips to Championship clubs, then League One the year after rolleyes

We came out swinging the last time we went down, granted signing Nolan pretty much saved us but I think we could do it again. It was quite fun going away to places like Doncaster, the train rides home were always a good laugh thumbup

Nolan's an excellent appointment - thought he should've been retained when he retired (but understandably he wanted a crack at management).

Yes Nolan will definitely instill a bit of urgency in the playing staff.

Also whispers going around that the Saudi mob that were wanting to buy Newcastle are now after us...
