And another thing winning two trophies is terrific for Utd & Mourinho

You poor fkers are faced with at least another two years of tedious turgid football .i
I watched some greatly entertaining Utd teams under docherty and Atkinson ,they barely won anything ,all I remember now is they weren't good enough .
And whilst I do think we've played some poor football it has mostly been the last ten weeks .
We've played plenty of good stuff at times

Enjoy 2nd place and the football you played ,it's meaningless unless you win something .

A good gesture for sure.

Also very impressed with Ander Herrera's press conference after the match last night. This is his second language, yet he spoke so well about the events in Manchester, the club and the game. Really rate this guy, future captain for me. "We are no one, just football players, but we have an audience.."

How many British players could manage this even in English, let alone a foreign language?

In all fairness I think the money for finishing 2nd in the premier league far outweighs what winning the EL league does,
it does but you have to compare coming 2nd vs coming 6th and winning Europa Cup

Manchester United pocketed €14.7m (£12.7m) in prize money after winning the Europa League with a 2-0 win over Ajax in the final. The Premier League giants secured the final winner's prize of €6.5m to add to the €8.2m they'd already earned from European football governing body Uefa. (source City AM)

Winner of EPL gets £40M, and it falls by £2M for each place below - so Spurs made £38M, United made £30M for 6th

So we made 4.7 million more than Spurs. Devastated we didn't finish second..

Another one trying to convince themselves that United winning the LC and ELC is a worthy achievement. How the times have changed.
Yes, they have changed. As a 52 year old I remember Man Utd getting relegated and failing to win the league for the first 28 years of my life. This year was great and I'm very happy. beer

This. I'm a little younger, but remember the bad days of Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal winning everything whilst we picked up the odd FA Cup.

I also remember the Cup Winners Cup final (still have the shirt and still wear it from time to time!) - and how winning what was a '2nd tier' European Trophy made the club what it is today.

Spuds 8/1!!! What the fk do bookies know. They have an extra few million this year. Sure to land them their first trophy this century.

For me, winning stuff was way more exciting when we won less. Mark Hughes Cup Winners Cup winning goal was marvellous. Actually, his equalizer against Oldham in the '94 FA Cup semi final was one of my best ever United moments.

I guess the bookies know you are going to spend another billion , zillion trillion on footballers .

They know the current squad is only good for 6th at best in the big league.

Bookies will have an eye on the transfer window - United and City will both splash the cash on players who will enhance the starting 11. Chelsea will deepen the squad, as I suspect will Liverpool. Arsenal need to sort out the manager, but like Spurs, may struggle to retain their top players. Spurs are going to have to adjust to paying 'top 4' wages if they want to keep their star names. You can't hold onto the likes of Kane paying mid-table wages, yet they have a stadium to pay for.

Another big problem for the spuds is playing at Wembley.

Not so sure they will tbh. The system has worked well so far.

Other than Kane the best starting xl at spurs are all players that Spurs have purchased & all these players were available to other clubs at a relatively reasonable price. I would suggest it's more of what our coaching team are doing rather than the players being brilliant.

There is talk of Walker going but if the money is right then he has to go (as has any player at Spurs). but we have a more than decent ready made replacement in Trippier. & the same goes for Rose too with Davies showing great form.

I really don't think Spurs will be doing anything different this coming season regarding players wages.

Poch & his coaching team are the only ones that I would be desperate to keep.

No worries.

Anyone who thought we were favourites last season is off their rocker.
