He gives away a goal per game, if we're lucky. Malcoordinated and generally terrible.

Well, that could have gone worse. Amazing what a difference one player can make, and that spell playing 4-4-2 was just... cloud9

It was a few things. Pog playing, and playing Mata instead of Micky, playing Mata at 10, allowing Tony and Rash to play together.

Young still our best crosser, and put in a great ball for Mike's goal.

Matic was epic again, when paired with Pogba there’s no stopping them.

Lindelof did OK for most of the game so a positive there.

Zlatan’s back!

Pogba average as ever. Goal and an assist and man of the match in his first game back.

Decent performance and good to get some goals.

Lindelof played OK apart from giving away his usual goal. He should never wear the shirt again but doubtless will.

I’m not going to crucify him for the goal. He was a few yards ahead of his man / play which wasn’t ideal, but it was just one of those goals.

Overall I’m happy to see us come back from going a goal down and we dominated the second half.

Wonder why there’s no Spuddies in here tonight hehe

I imagine they would be slightly worried that somebody might point out that the best team in the world ever still has no bottle.

We all knew that.

Back on track, I was pleased to see that Pogba was back in the game inside 30 mins of starting. Fair play to Newcastle. They came and had a go, but I think scoring so early buggered up their game plan.

It was a good game,Newcastle played really well first half hour.
So much more pleasing on the eye than recent weeks.
Not sure why he didn’t put ibra with Lukaku in front of him ?

Not convinced Ibra is fully fit yet. Lots of work to do and a few must win games ahead of the derby. Could be a case of chasing down a 10+ point lead at Christmas like in the 90s!

Won at a canter. Maybe we need to go behind every game to get focus. Pogba looks like he’s not been out. Awesome. Ibra, so good to have him back. Tony, Young excellent. Matic different class. Mike Smalling spraying Scholesy passes.

Lukaku I’d like to think when he smashed that in he was thinking. “Ave it”...Drout over.

We probably still won’t be first on MOTD though. hehe

He certainly wasn't taking any prisoners with the finish. Great to see, thought his link up play was better today, and Rashfords headed lay off for Pogba was brilliant - he'd tried it earlier for Lukaku too, wonder if it's something they've been working on.

The atmosphere and mood just seemed much lighter today, I guess with the injured trio returning the lads have been given a boost, even Jose managed a smile (though that could just be with beating FSW again).

It was a nice demonstration of just what we've missed while Pogba has been out. I'm with ORD I think he's a colossal influence. Viera with Ronaldo's feet, or close to them. And he's here because he loves united. Pogba and Matic feeding Zlatan at 10 with Rashford, Martial and lukaku running off him. Nice.

Lindelof was a different player for Sweden against Italy last week. Vidic and Evra both took a while to settle I'm hoping he's the same.

It's quite remarkable how giddy everyone around here gets as soon as utd are back to playing a team from the bottom half of the league.

I am intrigued by the idea of playing Zlatan deeper (false 9 or 10). He's got great feet and can pass. He's also brilliant at holding up, of course. He's not mobile, but neither is Mata. He would be a huge threat arriving into the box for headers, too.

I am still not 100% sure about Lukaku, but playing those two would be pretty frightening.
